Actually stocks will eventually correct 70%. If at the bottom, the ones that do not go out of business will be great buys. Which ones? Only the Shadow knows Reply

Does anyone honestly think Las Vegas, the world's largest resort combine is just going to disappear? Then let me sell you some vacant land on Mt. Everest. This is a golden opportunity to accumulate LVS MGM, Boyd and Wynn shares at fire sale prices. If that wasn't enough, add Macau, the largest gambling mecca in the world which is frosting on the cake.

Encore Acquisition Takes Itself Off the Market [view article]
Encore has a classic problem, lower energy prices and not enough production to bolster earnings regardless of oil and gas pricing. Additionally, she has all her future potential in unconventional plays. Lower oil and gas pricing always favors conventionally produced oil and gas.

Someday this stock goes somewhere, but when the market doesn't seem to know.

Some Energy Stocks Burn Brighter Than Others [view article]
TEHRAN (AFP) -- Iran's oil minister confirmed on Saturday that the French energy giant Total SA (12027.FR) was out of a multi-billion dollar gas investment in the Islamic republic, the state broadcaster reported.
"Total's recent move in withdrawal from phase 11 of the South Pars is a completely political move and not a commercial one," Nozari said.

The French firm's chief Christophe de Margerie said in an interview published Thursday that it was too politically risky to invest in Iran at present.

Western governments have pressured firms to cut their ties with Iran over the country's controversial nuclear program that world powers fear could be aimed at seeking atomic weapons.

If a giant like Total fina is pulling out of Iran, they must be under great political pressure to do so - gas will keep going up!

I did not recall any gold stocks. Current trends are up oil, up gold and at 949, I see another 25 run up coming if oil continues to ascend. That is unless ICE works with gold. Reply

    Marc:
Although I agree with the tone of your article, do not know if I agree that any big oil plays w. international exposure are LT buys. Believe BP struggle with 50-50 TNK-BP venture in Russia highlights dangers of nationalization policies throughout the world, which exposes Exxon & its int'l sisters to reserve replacement risks, too.
