Eastman Kodak (EK +6%) ends a long dispute with LG Electronics, by selling its thin-screen Organic LED development arm to LG and agreeing to share patents. The move is in line with Kodak's cutting costs by trimming spending for cutting-edge technologies.

In aggregate, short interest in U.S. stocks continues to decline. But that doesn't mean shorts have gone away altogether. Current favorites: Eastman Kodak (EK), Rite Aid (RAD), Baker Hughes (BHI), Starbucks (SBUX) and JetBlue Airways (JBLU).

Eastman Kodak (EK) seeks a balance-sheet boost as Kohlberg Kravis Roberts will purchase up to $400M in senior secured notes and take warrants for 53M shares of stock - all of which could mean raising $700M for core Kodak investments. Shares down 5.5% AH.

After halting its dividend and slashing jobs, Eastman Kodak (EK) says it can generate enough cash to survive and is betting on printers to spur profits. Still, despite signals of improved business conditions, CEO Antonio Perez thinks "growth won't return until 2011."

As its core cellphone business slumps, Sprint (S) wants to rent out excess network capacity to consumer gadget makers. Sprint already handles wireless downloads for Kindle (AMZN), and is in talks with Garmin (GRMN), Kodak (EK) and SanDisk (SNDK).

Eastman Kodak (EK -1.1%) anticipates a very small recovery in digital sales in 2010, and will seek "alliances or other business-model changes to reduce risk and enhance revenue and margins," it tells investors at a conference. Sees 2009 revenue down 12-18%, but says it's comfortable with its cash position.
