user155010.. and other folks who think Jim Rodgers is great?
He has called for Frannie & Freddy to fail-uh should fail.., complaining that everyone has committed theft, fraud, etc. When ask by the interviewer if he was short these stocks he said of course. He stated yes he was making money being short but who cared if he was making money?? After all he said, "I have to pay taxes on it".. right!!
He spends his TV time bad mouthing the stocks so he can make his money short..a nice ethical guy.
    just my view..

Eli keeps getting better. Between the headline news, the overnight foreign markets, the earnings reports, and the day's economic calendar, what more material could a reader want? One hopes that Eli doesn't get dragged into the trap of doing a lot of analysis. Reply

The earnings briefs are interesting. It would save us all a scratch pad if you ended each such listing with a summary (day and quarter to date) of beat / match / miss. Thanks, though, for this most interesting listing. Reply

Who in the world would listen to Cramer? Haven't you seen enough of his NOTHING? If you want to get rich in the market, listen to him only, to buy everything he DOESN'T LIKE. Make some money for yourself, accumulate WYNN and LVS now. Reply

Iron Man Is a Marvel - Cramer's Lightning Round (5/1/08) [view article]
Cramer is like all these other advisers. He follows the leader. When a stock is up, he recommends it. When it's down he calls a sale. All you have to do is buy Investors Daily Journal for a buck.
Cramer is the type of person who buys high and sells low.

Will Goldman Shine? Fast Money Recap (6/16/08) [view article]
RIM actually only has one cylinder to fire on, and it's looking very long in the tooth compared to iPhone. iPhone at $199 will crush blackberry, it's a far more capable phone with all of the internet and iPod experiences, not just email.

Will Goldman Shine? Fast Money Recap (6/16/08) [view article]
I am glad Martin had come out for the merger, however it would have been nice if the 5 comm of the FCC would have approved before going to the press. Then we would all have know that the ride was over.
It has been a long ride to say the least.........I am glad that's at least closer to the finish line. My feeling are this has already been approved deal with the FCC otherwise Martin would not have come out swinging. It will be 4 to 1 approve be end of June. Sour grapes to the NAB and their back pocket buddies.

Correcting a myth - regarding GM and Toyota Motor (TM).

Many believe that GM is no. 1 globally as recently published it outsold Toyota by 1000 or 3000 cars in 2007.

In reality, GM's revenue was $181B in 2007 (01/2007-12/2007) down considerably on YOY. Toyota's revenue was $252B in FY2007 (04/2007-03/2008) up nearly 10%.

It is high time the U.S. auto industry started dealing with the harsh reality before it is too late. Hype and spin can go just so far...
