    Emdeon (EM +13.9%), whose shares popped yesterday on a report the company will be acquired by Blackstone (BX -6.2%), announces today the deal will be going through at a price of $19/share, paid entirely in cash. Banc of America, Merrill Lynch, Barclays, and Citigroup will provide financing for the deal.

    Blackstone's (BX) reported bid for Emdeon (EM) is providing a lift to some other healthcare consulting services firms. The Advisory Board (ABCO) is up 11%, and Huron Consulting (HURN) is posting a 3.5% gain.

    Emdeon (EM) shares soaring 16.8% following a report that Blackstone (BX +5.9%) has agreed to buy the medical-billing provider for around $3B. Emdeon's market cap at yesterday's close was $1.74B.
