- Wednesday, June 12, 11:57 AM Western Gas Partners (WES +0.3%) says it will begin construction of a second cryogenic processing train at its Lancaster plant in the DJ Basin this year, with capacity of 300M cf/day and throughput of 200M via Anadarko (APC). Also, WES will pick up a 25% at-cost interest in a JV with Enterprise Products Partners (EPD) in two fractionation trains in Mont Belvieu, Tex., already under construction. Comment! [Energy]
- Thursday, June 6, 2:39 PM MLPs are staging a bit of a recovery today after several days of losses amid rising interest rates, with key drivers Enterprise Products Partners (EPD +1.9%) and Kinder Morgan Partners (KMP +1.8%) showing the way. But as the move in longer yields was only about 60 basis points, 24/7's Jon Ogg shudders to think what could happen to MLP pricing if rates rose 150 or 250 bps. 16 Comments [Energy]
- Friday, May 31, 10:33 AM Even as rising interest rates and lower oil and natural gas prices impact valuations across the MLP sector, Deutsche Bank continues to view the sector favorably because of its organic growth, rising dividends and distributions, and still historically low costs of capital. The firm's latest report points to still attractive fundamentals for its top MLPs to buy: EPD, KMP, PAA, WES, ACMP, RRMS. 3 Comments [Energy, Quick Ideas]
- Thursday, May 30, 12:28 PM Enterprise Products Partners (EPD -2.3%) says it plans to develop two refined products export facilities on the Texas coast. Export service at the Beaumont marine terminal will initially handle Panamax size vessels and should begin service in Q1 2014, followed in mid-2014 by its expanded marine terminal on the Houston Ship Channel that will be initially sized to handle up to Aframax class vessels. 1 Comment [Energy, On the Move]
- Wednesday, May 29, 5:54 PM Low interest rates have helped MLPs raise capital at a reasonable cost, enabling returns well above their cost of capital and supporting cash distribution growth, but Simmons analysts say investor interest should remain strong even as rates rise - though due diligence will be more important than ever. Darren Schuringa says it's crucial to measure an MLP’s coverage ratio rather than the actual money it pays out. 10 Comments [Energy]
- Thursday, May 23, 3:44 PM Magellan Midstream Partners (MMP -0.7%) may build a pipeline extension connecting its network to its terminals in central Arkansas, where the imminent shutdown of Enterprise Partners' (EPD) 230K bbl/day distillate pipeline is raising concerns about supply in the state. EPD says flows on the line are too low to justify more spending, but Arkansas' AG is challenging the shutdown. Comment! [Energy]
- Tuesday, May 21, 12:47 PM Energy infrastructure largely escapes damage from yesterday's tornado that ripped through Oklahoma, though a Southern Star natural gas pipeline reports some damage. Valero (VLO) and Phillips 66 (PSX) say their refineries escaped damage, Enterprise Products Partners (EPD) reports no damage to its Seaway pipeline, and operations at the Cushing crude hub are unaffected. 2 Comments [Energy]
- Friday, May 17, 11:38 AM Jim Cramer chooses MLPs Kinder Morgan Partners (KMP) and Enterprise Products Partners (EPD) as antidotes to potential froth in the broader stock market. Cramer likes KMP's strategic acquisitions during recent years and is bullish on its outlook. On EPD, Cramer praises the management team and likes its track record of executing growth projects and integrating acquisitions. 16 Comments [Energy, Quick Ideas]
- Thursday, May 2, 2:58 PM Enterprise Products Partners (EPD), fresh off another strong quarter, stands atop Raymond James' list of energy stocks and MLPs to buy. Alliance Holdings (AHGP) and Alliance Resource Partners (ARLP) offer attractive distributions. Other favorites: VLO, APA, STR, TLLP, ACMP, QEP. Comment! [Energy, Quick Ideas]
- Tuesday, April 30, 11:42 AM Growing distributions while growing the business is the key for MLPs for the rest of 2013, and Merrill's MLP research team highlights energy partnerships it believes can expand their current business models while raising their distributions to shareholders. Likely to enjoy the highest payout increases: ACMP, BPL, EEP, EPD, GEL, NRGM, MWE, PAA. Comment! [Energy, Quick Ideas]
- Tuesday, April 30, 6:11 AM Enterprise Products Partners (EPD): Q1 EPS of $0.83. Revenue of $11.38B misses by $0.18B. (PR) Comment! [Earnings, Breaking News, Financials]

- Wednesday, April 17, 3:29 PM Enterprise Products Partners (EPD -0.4%) says it is considering options for its JV 210K bbl/day Centennial refined products pipeline, such as a reversal or moving different products, because of low volumes shipped from the Gulf Coast to Illinois. The pipeline remains in service but it's not moving much now, EPD says without specifying volume levels. 50-50 partner MPC -2.6%. Comment! [Energy, On the Move]
- Wednesday, April 10, 5:35 PM Barclays sees the growth in crude oil rail transport as a “slight positive” for MLPs, as it provides terminal investment opportunities and potential synergies partially offset by increasing competition. The financial impact of rail on MLPs is still relatively modest, the firm says, as pipelines remain the dominant mode of U.S. crude transportation due to cost and safety advantages relative to rail, barge and truck. 3 Comments [Energy]
- Wednesday, April 3, 6:10 PM The Seaway crude oil pipeline is operating normally, operator Enterprise Products Partners (EPD) says, denying rumors in energy markets that the line had shut down. Pipeline monitor Genscape reported it had observed decreased power consumption at all pumping stations along the line's route at ~9:00 a.m. EST and later said it saw resumed flows on the line at ~11:15. 1 Comment [Energy]
