Tuesday, May 21, 10:42 AM Shares in Embraer (ERJ +3.3%) move up after it and SkyWest (SKYW -0.4%) earlier announced a firm order for 40 Embraer 175 aircraft. Additionally, another 60 firm orders were reconfirmable aircraft, subject to SkyWest being awarded CPA agreement contracts with United Airlines. Tuesday, April 30, 10:51 AM Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer (ERJ +6.3%) posted a drop in Q1 Y/Y net profit late yesterday - due largely an increase in payroll costs - but the shares are trading higher today after the company announced it had signed a firm order with United Airlines for the sale of 30 Embraer 175 jets, with options for an additional 40. Thursday, February 28, 8:49 AM Embraer (ERJ +3.3%) and privately held Sierra Nevada have beaten out Hawker Beechcraft to win a $428M deal to supply 20 single-engine turboprop Super Tucano planes to the U.S. Air Force for counterinsurgency missions in Afghanistan. The "seal of quality" from the U.S. should help Embraer win contracts from other countries, although it's a blow to Hawker as it tries to recover after exiting Chapter 11. 1 Comment
Thursday, January 24, 11:35 AM Brazilian aircraft maker Embraer (ERJ +9.7%) pops after announcing earlier that its inked a contract with Republic Airways (RJET +2.7%) for as many as 94 of its ERJ175 planes to fly regional routes for American Airlines. RJET plans to buy 47 of the planes initially, and holds the option to buy another 47. If the option is exercised, the deal could mean as much as $4B to ERJ's coffers. Monday, January 14, 10:06 AM Embraer (ERJ +2.6%) delivered 205 aircraft last year, up a hair from 204 in 2011, with the the world's No. 4 jet maker by sales providing 106 commercial planes in 2012 and 99 executive aircraft. However, backlog fell to the lowest since 2005, dropping to $12.5B last year from $15.4B in 2011. (PR) Comment!
Tuesday, January 8, 4:25 PM United Technologies (UTX) reaffirms its 2013 EPS expectations in the range of $5.85 to $6.15 per share on sales of $64B to $65G. Today's earlier announcement that Embraer (ERJ) has selected its Pratt & Whitney PurePower PW1700G and PW1900G engines as the exclusive power for its new second generation E-Jet aircraft family is expected to have no impact on it's 2013 financial outlook. Thursday, December 6, 2012, 9:34 AM Delta Airlines (DAL) chooses Bombardier (BDRAF.PK) over Embraer (ERJ -5.3%) and orders 40 CRJ900 NextGen regional jets from the Canadian company, and takes an option to acquire another 30 in a deal that could be worth up to $3.29B. The initial value is $1.85B. The booking adds to orders worth billions of dollars that Bombardier received from Berkshire Hathaway's NetJets and VistaJet. Comment! [On the Move]

Monday, October 29, 2012, 8:29 AM Honeywell (HON) gets upbeat about the corporate jet market, predicting that the number delivered will rise 9% globally this year and next, and will reach $250B worth by 2022. Honeywell's Rob Wilson even predicts a decoupling of U.S. corporate results and jet sales as demand grows in Asia and Latin America. In addition to Honeywell, those that should benefit include GD's (GD) Gulfstream, Textron's (TXT) Cessna, Bombardier and Embraer (ERJ). (PR) Comment!

Monday, September 24, 2012, 2:44 PM Due to budget reasons, Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff has decided to wait until mid-2013 to make a decision on a multi-billion-dollar Air Force jets contract, and Boeing's (BA +0.1%) recent alliances with Brazilian aircraft maker Embraer (ERJ -1.9%) give a leg up in the competition. The decision has dragged on for more than a decade through three successive Brazilian governments, and picking the winner has become a bit like placing odds on a soccer match that never actually gets played.
