QuinStreet (QNST) to be added to the S&P 600, with eResearchTechnology (ERT) to be deleted as of the close on June 27th. ERT is being acquired by affiliates of Genstar Capital in a deal expected to be completed soon.

Genstar Capital purchases eResearch Technology (ERT) for ~$400M. The $8-a-share offer marks only a slight premium over yesterday's closing price of $7.84.

eResearch Technology (ERT +16.9%) shares soar after Q4 results beat analyst estimates and Benchmark says it believes underlying clinical research industry trends recovered late in 2011 and have now returned to a favorable track. In raising shares to Buy, the firm expects improved margins, profitability and cash flow with the recent release of the Expert3 platform.

More on eResearch Technology's (ERT) Q4: Bookings for the quarter were $82.5M, a new high and well above revenue of $52.3M. As a result, eResearch's total backlog grew 4% Q/Q to $357.4M. The company expects Q1 revenue of $46M-$49M and EPS of $0.08-$0.11 (consensus of $44.7M and $0.10), and 2012 revenue of $195M-$203M and EPS of $0.45-$0.53 (consensus of $195.2M and $0.46).
