: That's one of them (although shifted some into BFCF recently for 'diversification').

: This is how investment banks work. Volatile earnings and making it up on equity/bond portfolio. 50% it's a business, 50% it's a fund.

$FBRC tender offer announced, should be an odd-lots clause in this one. 9.9% shares being tendered should create a nice proration spread.

: Didn't they do a couple of dutch tenders a while ago but nobody tendered, hence no shares were bought back in that process?
        • Oliver Rowe | Send Message 23 Jul 2014
: True, in 2012 only 0.4% of shares tendered. The offer was for closer to 10% of shares. So a very low response rate.

: seems like that's worth at least a 10% in share price. immediate EPS boost for the cost of only excess cash

: I have emailed FBR Investor Relations suggesting an increased pace of buybacks or a one time special dividend.

: I believe the large cash balance is hurting the share price.

$FBRC I'd say tangible book value is $24/share cause ~$3/share is a deferred tax asset for taxes that won't be paid, not an actual asset.

: Definitely cheap. The DTA is now exclusively capital loss carry-forwards so let's root for the stock market to go up :)
