> The Nintendo (NTDOY.PK) Wii is not worth developing for. It is> nearer the end of its life cycle than the other two consoles
Seriously, Bruce, what planet are you on?
Every single statistic says exactly the opposite.
The Wii continues to sell at manufacturing capacity; the idea that it's "nearer the end of its life cycle" is pure speculation you've decided to state as fact. Reply

I'm sensing a little bias in this article. The Wii is a great system and the sales have been outstanding! Yeah, the third party support may be a little under par but you know...who's fault is that? If these third party developers would spend a little more time on the games and pay a little more attention to the detail, they too would be showing software sales like that of Nintendo's. I can think of a couple of really great examples of third party software for the Wii. Boom Blox anyone? Okami? I can keep going if I must.... The Wii is definitely not nearer it's life's end like this moron so blatantly put it. I own all 3 systems and quite honestly, I play my Wii more than any of them. The other two systems have their share of great games but they too have more "shovelware" titles than I can count. The numbers for Wii and DS sales says it all....there is no denying that. It's time this "old timer" opened his eyes and started looking at the facts. It's a must if you are going to write articles on a particular subject matter. Take it from a journalist who learned that in journalism 101 about six years ago. Oh and Codemasters is nothing to be proud of. It may have done great over in the UK but I think it pretty much flopped horribly here in the states. ReplyVideo Game Industry: One of the Most Attractive Areas to Invest [view article]
This guy is spot on, especially about the comment on not developing for the Wii. You will notice most of the Wii titles that are successful are first part Nintendo titles. The Wii is being purchased in such large numbers for its low price, innovative controller & nintendo brand loyalty, not for its 3rd party game catalog. It has a lower attach rate (games purchased per system sold) than Xbox and PS3. The money is in MMO gaming for the PC and cross-platform Xbox/PS3 games. The trick is trying to find which developer can get gamers to switch from World of Warcraft to the next MMO. Digital downloads are also becoming popular for the PC. Valve has been successful at publishing PC titles through their Steam digital delivery and gaming platform. Replyngbang

The iPhone as a gaming platform is positioned to experience explosive growth due to the large numbers of grassroots developers who downloaded the SDK.They will be able to easily sell and distribute the games they develop on iTunes.
The Developers Conference in June will reveal some of the latest efforts.
I think the general public is largely unaware of the magnitude of the potential implicit in the iPhone as game platform.
That will soon change.

Consumers have been frightened off of the Wii? Bruce, what planet are you on? Are you looking at any of the sales charts? Which ones? And if it's not worth developing for, someone should tell the developers. Sega have recently come out and said that they made a mistake by backing the PS3 over the Wii, and they won't make the same mistake in the future. Reply

Look out for GA with earnings coming up next week. I have been hearing a 10 percent upside to this following the numbers. I would suggest getting in. I was able to buy 150 shares @ 15.44 today on the pullback. They have a good pipeline and alot of upside. I am riding this one to $20 Replye

What do you think about Stem cell research? I have stock in one company, and am waiting in hopes that the next President will allow Federal funding. I have been buying it over the past year and a half. Any thoughts on the subject? Reply2

Found a Chinese stock you may be interested in, Jade Art Group, JADGVery interesting artical. For more information, visit: www.jadeartgroupinc.co... I just bought 1500 shares. What made me decide in the end, was the fact that when the entire stock market, pretty much world wide took a giant dive, this stock just had a small blip, and continued to rise. It has dropped some since I bought it, but I think it will recover, and hopefully continue to climb.
