Genetic Technologies (GENE -1.1%) says its subsidiary Phenogen Sciences has executed an agreement with FedMed to use its national provider network. FedMed's network includes more than 550K, 60K ancillary care providers and 4K hospitals nationwide, with more than 40M covered individuals.

Gene-related stocks are getting a big bump today on the back of Angelina Jolie's recent decision to have a mastectomy to prevent possible breast cancer: Rosetta Genomics (ROSG +15.5%), Genetic Technologies (GENE +12.9%), Diagnocure (DGCRF.PK +12%), GeneNews (GNSWF.PK +5%). Myriad Genetics (MYGN -2.2%) is lower on a bout of profit-taking, possibly exacerbated by news of some insider selling today by its CEO as well.

Genetic Technologies (GENE) rises 21% premarket after saying it has executed an agreement with a fifth PPO, allowing the company's BREVAGen test to be adjudicated "in network," where reimbursement is 25% higher and collection times are "materially shorter." (PR)

Genetic Technologies (GENE -0.9%) slips this morning after the company names its COO and acting Chief Executive Alison Mew as its permanent CEO, less than two weeks after its former head, Paul MacLeman - along with several other company executives - resigned. Last month Mr. MacLeman stepped down in protest after GENE's founder, Mervyn Jacobson, used his 29% stake in the company to block the re-election of Chairman Mel Bridges.

Genetic Tech (GENE) plunges 20% following a management earthquake at its annual meeting. The trouble started when Genetic founder Mervyn Jacobson used his 29% stake to block the re-election of chairman Mel Bridges, with a motion to re-elect fellow director Huw Jones also failing. CEO Paul MacLeman then resigned, as did director Greg Brown and legal head David Sparling.

Genetic Technologies (GENE) +13.1% premarket after announcing its breast cancer treatment BREVAGen has been cleared for sale in Florida. The news follows approval of the drug for California in July. GENE says Florida and California combined represent 15%-20% of breast cancer incidence in the U.S.

Australian diagnostic firm Genetic Technologies (GENE +6%) spikes higher after signing a license agreement with Conexio Genomics. Under the terms of the agreement, Conexio will be granted non-exclusive rights to a number of GENE patents relating to its non-coding DNA technology.

Shares of Australian diagnostic firm Genetic Technologies (GENE +33%) are ripping today on the back of a new bullish report issued by Australian investment bank Lodge Partner, starting the shares with a Buy and an aggressive $17 price target (that would make it a four-bagger from current levels). The firm says BREVAGen, GENE's key diagnostic product, is regaining momentum, noting that H2 sales rose 230% over H1, and it expects that trend to continue.

Shares of Genetic Technologies (GENE +7.6%) surge on news the genetic testing company received European CE Mark approval for BREVAGen, GENE’s breast cancer risk test. The designation will allow the test to be sold in the EU and other countries that recognize the CE Mark. Initial commercial focus will be in France and Germany.
