  • Thursday's Breakout Stocks on BIG Volume by Marco Hickey
With the major indices trading lower Thursday, there were 15 stocks which hit my screener fighting the trend on heavy volume. As always, the first thing I do is scan the list for familiar names, such as stocks which have appeared on similar scans multiple times in the past week or two (most of... More »

  • Monday's Hot Stocks on Heavy Volume by Marco Hickey
With the markets trading slightly higher Monday, there were 19 stocks that hit my radar trading higher on much more action. As always, the first thing I do is scan the list for familiar names, such as stocks which have appeared on similar scans multiple times in the past week or two (most of... More »

  • Volume Talks: Monday's Breakout Stocks on Big Volume by Marco Hickey
With the NYSE trading almost 1.5% higher Monday, it's no surprise that there were 21 breakout stocks on big volume that made my post. As always, the first thing I do is scan the list for familiar names, such as stocks which have appeared on similar scans multiple times in the past week or two... More »

  • South Africa & Brazil – twins for a time, now splitting up? by AlphaFound
Brazil has received some lavish praise in recent months. The November 12 edition of the Economist is typical of the press attention it is garnering. However, the country’s late October decision to tax foreign equity and bond inflows makes the loudest statement about the... More »

  • New & Existing Home Sales - Foreclosures Distinguish by Markos Kaminis
New Home Sales were reported down 3.6% in September, and measured well below economists' expectations. This unexpected disappointment sank stocks on October 28th, as one would expect it might. The Dow Jones Industrials Index slumped 1.21%, while the S&P 500 moved 1.95% lower on the day.... More »

  • Sold Portion of GFA & MICC by Stone Fox Capital
Over the last couple of trading days we've sold roughly 30-40% of our holdings in both Gafisa (GFA) and Millicom (MICC). Both stocks have risen substantially in the last week and at the times of selling they both were more then 25% above the 20EMA. Thats usually a good sign of being overbought... More »

  • Gafisa Technicals by Stone Fox Capital
At Stone Fox, we're not huge technial analysts, but this market has gotten to the point that pays to check them out. Gafisa (GFA) has been one of our favorite picks so a while due to booming demand in Brazil for homes due to GDP growth and a huge lack of housing. As of close today, GFA as a... More »

  • Looking at homebuilders by Lee Eugene Munson
In light of the figures for new home sales coming out on Wednesday we've been looking at the largest cap. stocks for any potential setups. The estimate so far would be the highest rate this year at 363,000. The tickers we're checking out are DHI, TOL, NVR, PHM, GFA, MDC, LEN, CTX, KBH and RYL.... More »

  • Great Opportunity in Gafisa on this Pullback by Stone Fox Capital
The share offering is being oversold big time. We're happy they we never bought GFA back on the 5/13 post. Now we'd be looking to add back any shares sold around the 200ema at $16.25. Don't get too greedy though. GFA will be a big winner and the proceeds from the share offering will only serve... More »

  • Pulling the trigger on GFA by Stone Fox Capital
We dumped 25% of our position on the jump to $20 last week. Now is the time to look at adding back. GFA just hit the 20ema at the close so unless we see a big pull back at the start of trading tomorrow, I'd be adding back that position.
