Wednesday, June 13, 2012, 3:13 PM Xstrata (XSRAF.PK) shareholders can blame Martin Sorrell for the stock's 5% swoon in London trading today. The merger of Glencore (GLCNF.PK) and Xstrata is contingent on shareholders approving a package of incentives for Mick Davis and his Xstrata colleagues worth at least £217M, and the vote against Sorrell's big payday makes the deal look even more unlikely. Thursday, February 2, 2012, 5:12 AM Glencore (GLCNF.PK) has offered to acquire the 66% of Swiss miner Xstrata (XSRAY.PK) it doesn't already own. Based on yesterday's close, the stake would be worth about $35B. One analyst described the synergies: "On one end you have great mining expertise, on the other you've got great marketing expertise.
