- Thursday, May 23, 9:48 AM Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR -7.3%) slumps again in early trading to briefly dip below $70. The report from the options pit is that action has intensified over the stock. Somewhere in the GMCR equation, the forecast for higher coffee commodity prices also needs to be factored in. 2 Comments [Consumer, On the Move]
- Wednesday, May 22, 3:37 PM Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR -5.5%) pulls back after triggering a number of overbought indicators for technically-oriented traders. SA contributor Markus Aarnio cautiously notes that this year all the insider transactions with GMCR have been on the sell side (913K shares sold vs 0 bought) and that shares are almost sitting on the median analyst price target. 1 Comment [Consumer]
- Wednesday, May 15, 5:53 PM David Einhorn’s Greenlight Capital took a 4.9% stake in Oil States International (OIS), a company he declared a target for shareholder activism target last week; Greenlight now ranks as the no. 5 shareholder in OIS. The fund also boosted stakes in Apple (AAPL) to ~2.4M shares from 1.3M (earlier) and Marvell Technology (MRVL) to 51.8M shares, more than 10% of shares out. New stakes: HES, SPR, GMCR, IACI. 8 Comments [Energy, Tech]
- Wednesday, May 15, 1:08 PM The International Coffee Organization forecasts coffee production in Central America will shrink 16% during the current growing season that runs from October to September due to a widespread fungus in the region that is wreaking havoc. Though only 10% of the world's coffee comes from Central American countries, it's an important region for many premium blend sellers. Wholesale coffee buyers: GMCR, KRFT, SJM, SBUX, CBOU. 1 Comment [Consumer]

Is Starbucks (SBUX) considering making a bid to buy Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR)? A good tap dance from Starbucks' Howard Schultz (video). Premarket: SBUX +0.9%, GMCR +17.7%. Comment! [On the Move] - Wednesday, May 8, 4:56 PM Shares of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR) rise 10.9% AH after coming off of a trading halt. A cozy 5-year deal with Starbucks and a FQ2 profit beat is more than enough to bring in buyers. 1 Comment [Consumer, On the Move]
- Wednesday, May 8, 4:19 PM More on the Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR) and Starbucks (SBUX) deal: The Seattle coffee giant will triple the number of products it offers for Keurig single cup brewers to blow up any vision that Starbucks was going to put Green Mountain Coffee Roasters out of business. Interestingly, Starbucks will introduce some new brands to the mix with Teavana and Seattle's Best Coffee coming over to the Keurig. 2 Comments [Consumer]
- Wednesday, May 8, 4:13 PM More on Green Mountain Coffee Roasters' (GMCR) FQ2: Revenue gains were led by sales of single serve packs, up 21% Y/Y to $794M, to offset slipping sales of brewers and accessories. On a volume basis, single serve packs were up 26% but a shift in product mix took down sales a few notches. The company says it got a 290 bp lift from lower green coffee costs and also benefited from lower labor and overhead costs - which when put together helped drive the nice beat on the bottom line. FY13 EPS estimates raised to $3.05-$3.15 on sales growth estimates of 11% to 14%. GMCR still halted, but expect fireworks to go off shortly. (PR) 2 Comments [Consumer, Earnings]
- Wednesday, May 8, 4:06 PM Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR): FQ2 EPS of $0.93 beats by $0.20. Revenue of $1.00B (+14% Y/Y) in-line. Shares halted AH on news of a 5-year agreement with Starbucks. (PR) 5 Comments [Breaking News, Consumer, Earnings]
- Wednesday, May 8, 4:05 PM Trading in Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR) is halted after the company announces a new five-year agreement with Starbucks (SBUX). Comment! [Consumer]

- Tuesday, April 30, 3:21 PM KeyBanc thinks a K-cup pricing war is still years away as the category continues to see strong growth trends and a favorable pricing atmosphere. The firm taps Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR +0.9%) as a good buy with shares set to go to $70. GMCR watch: For the most part, the bear thesis on the dire impact of Starbucks' Verismo machine and Kraft plus others emergence into the K-Cup market hasn't played out yet. 4 Comments [Consumer]
