"A comic book reportedly explains this in more detail."You didn't read it? You really should read it before you start dismissing it. There is nothing more annoying than uninformed "pundits" pontificating about things they don't understand. Reply
GM Best Stock Today - Fast Money Recap (9/2/08) [view article]
Why would anyone sell GM short or any large corporation short? That's a dangerous move plus I have always felt you have to be a little sick to want or to gamble on hugh American companies such as GM to go bankrupt.Daniel Kowkabany Reply

"but it assumes Microsoft stands still for the 10-15 years it would take to make it happen"You mean, like they have been?
As for Chrome: it has to be notably better than both Safari and Firefox, and that's a VERY high bar. Reply
Google's Chrome May Be Great, But Will It Matter? [view article]
Try reading the 'conditions of use' agreement, then decide if you wnat to install still more google spyware on your computer. And the only improvements of Vista on XP were for the benefit of Microsoft, to give them more control of your computer. Reply

Not sure I subscribe to the 'Google is only search' idea. After all, there is nothing with the class of Google Earth.
Or Google maps.
Or Gmail.
Or Google Analytics.
Or Google Translate.
Or Google Shopping and Checkout.
Or Google Finance.
And although not everyone agrees, I prefer Picassa over Flikr anyday.

Google's Chrome May Be Great, But Will It Matter? [view article]
Quite impressed with Chrome, and already using it more than IE 7 or Firefox. Love the look and the speed. ReplyGoogle's Chrome May Be Great, But Will It Matter? [view article]
Um... I love this Chrome! The only problem it has though... it's still not compatible with Mac OS X, but it's still better than both internet explorer and firefox put together! The thing about Internet Explorer... it's that not-that-old-old-peopl... people still use it! They think FireFox and Safari and everything is worlds apart from internet explorer! Internet Explorer is slow, but that's just how they like it! They are "used" to it so they don't even want to get upgrades from IE6 and get the new one! Most of these people still don't want to change from XP to Vista because they are (again) afraid of change! Whatever... time will take care of this (hopefully). ReplyeGuy
Google: Chrome, Android and The Cloud [view article]
Google has a lot of energy minus the synergy across product lines. Google's only source of cash is paid search. Google's only source of profits are from paid search. Personally, I am not sure that Google can be profitable in any area other than paid search.I hope to be proven wrong, but the reality of today is that Google loves to make splashes, but businesses need to make profits, too!
Search profits will not last forever. Reply
Google: Chrome, Android and The Cloud [view article]
Guys, there are privacy options in Chrome that allow you to surf a page in "incognito" mode so no history of it is saved. Plus the fact that all the web processes are run with lowest privilege possible defeats your privacy argument about Google. ReplyWhat (If Anything) Google Chrome Will Mean for Businesses [view article]
Considering that Chrome is built on Webkit, the same toolkit that runs Mozilla Firefox, Apple's Safari, and Konquerer, and that it is open source, I don't see how this is anything evil. It does seem that, however, it will change the dynamics of the user experience.I still love Firefox but after reading about the memory and process management of Chrome and a completely revamped and more powerful javascript engine in it, it looks like a very promising browser. Firefox 3 has fixed many of Firefox 2's memory leaks, but is still quite a memory hog. Heavy AJAXified websites still run sluggishly, so I'm hoping Chrome's javascript engine will improve on these aspects. Reply
