A consortium led by Disney (DIS +1.1%) is in advanced talks to buy a 30%-40% stake in China's largest in-bus advertising company, sources say. "Disney is going to do many things in China... [the deal is] more about the promotion of Disney, the brand" than sharing in the growth of China's ad business. A rather odd member of the consortium: Google (GOOG).

Now that BlackRock (BLK) is the world's biggest asset manager, it sends the SEC more than 1,500 13G forms (like a 13D, used to report an investor owns 5% of a company), meaning it owns significant segments of some of the biggest Fortune 500 companies - including Apple (AAPL), Microsoft (MSFT), Google (GOOG) and even Exxon Mobil (XOM).

Google (GOOG) sold only 80,000 Nexus One phones in its first month, compared to 600,000 Apple (AAPL) iPhones and 525,000 Motorola (MOT) Droids sold during their initial months. Reasons for the slow start: only on T-Mobile with 3G, available only via the web, 3G connection issues, spotty customer service.

At Davos, there's little talk of Google's (GOOG) opposition to China's internet censorship. Why? Because China said so, explains Josef Ackermann (DB), a co-chairman of this year’s World Economic Forum. (see also)

In Davos, Google (GOOG) CEO Eric Schmidt walks a delicate line on China, seeming to back off from conflict while firming the company's stance: Censorship is unacceptable and "we hope that will change and we can apply some pressure to make things better for the Chinese people." Meanwhile, not much is visibly happening - and Microsoft (MSFT) would be happy to jump in. (previously)
