Garmin: Market Erroneously Pricing In Nuvifone Failure [view article]
The problem with Garmin is that the average person does not need some silly program giving them directions. These things go out of favor after they have been on the market for a while. Other examples include satelite radio and crocs; this is a luxury- while many people are having a hard time filling up their tanks why would they shell out more dough for directions? Reply

This is phone is going to be sick. Navigational software on phones usually sucks. But, it should be easy for Garmin to work the other way and make "phone" features. Can't wait for it... I wonder what network it will be on I want to get this for my parents:

Tim, Full disclosure : I am long GRMN. Painfully so.

Nothing you have said about the GRMN phone seems to be radically new. Every feature you have mentioned is available on the AT&T Slider. Including Google Maps. I have a Taiwan ETEN cell phone and I have used Google Maps on it for over a year WITH GPS. Gas Stations, restaurants and all.

Thanks, Tim. We've changed the headline to the one suggested above.

I never posted this headline.....it should be " The Garmin Nuvifone is Coming! "

Garmin investors who are already in the stock have no control over the price.....if anything, it should read " The Market is erroneously pricing in a Nuvifone failure.

Even though trucks do move America, many people are trying to find ways around transportation. Along with the rising price of fuels and many companies trying to use other venues for shipment, trucking is starting to get hit really hard especially on their costs. Reply

Why is Cramer recommending YRC when the price of diesel is skyrocketing? I think long haul trucking is dead in the water. It won't be long until most stuff is going to be shipped on trains, not trucks. Cramer is probably thinking that the price of oil is a bubble and is going to burst any minute. This kind of permabull crap will get investors in a lot of trouble. Reply

    Hello Big:

Is there a reason for the pullback in NVDA? The valuations appears quite reasonable.

Elias, so far you've been 'wrong' and have 'missed the bigger picture', for about a 20% profit in two months.

    Well done my friend.

This thing was and still is just plain wrong.

What is the reason for owning this thing? Tell me there's nothing easier to go long with in this environment that you need to keep bucking the tape, folks.

This chart would be even more useful if it also included trailing PEs. Reply

The problem with GRMN is that all of their functionalities can and will be imported into or imbedded into cell phones. Unless GRMN plans on getting into telecom they have a bleak future. Maybe they can develop some code or apps for the i-phone and forestall the inevitable. Reply
