Whitney Holding (WTNY) will merge with Hancock Holding (HBHC -1.8%) in a stock-for-stock deal that values Whitney at $15.48/share, a 42% premium to Whitney's closing price yesterday. The combined firm will have $20B in assets and 305 branches. (PR)
