- Friday, December 14, 2012, 6:08 PM With just two weeks before we go plummeting off the so-called fiscal cliff, corporate executives are intensifying their push for a compromise out fear of the economic consequences. One business leader taking on a bigger role in trying to get a deal done is Honeywell (HON) CEO David Cote, who has become a key go-between for Republicans and the White House. Cote’s role marks a big change from last year’s messy debt-ceiling debate, as business execs aren’t sitting on the sidelines this time. “We’re not confident that our guys can govern anymore,” says Cote. 3 Comments [U.S. Economy]
- Monday, December 10, 2012, 7:42 AM Honeywell (HON) releases 2013 guidance, forecasting sales growth of 4-5% to $39-$39.5B, a 50-80 bps boost to operating margins, and EPS growth of 6%-11% to $4.75-$4.95. Previous: Acquisition of Intermec. (PR) Comment!

- Wednesday, December 5, 2012, 3:31 PM Honeywell (HON +1.8%) moves up today after Stifel Nicolaus initiated the shares with a Buy and a target price of $72 a share. The firm also added the stock to its Select List, citing its strong business portfolio and product development. Comment! [On the Move]
- Wednesday, November 28, 2012, 5:56 AM Numerous CEOs of major companies are off to Washington today to talk to President Obama and/or John Boehner about averting the fiscal cliff. Those meeting Obama include the leaders of Merck (MRK), Coca-Cola (KO) and Caterpillar (CAT), while those meeting Boehner include the CEOs of Honeywell (HON) and Aetna (AET). Company bosses have also been urging their staff to pressure Washington to reach a deal. 3 Comments [U.S. Economy]
- Wednesday, November 21, 2012, 3:47 PM Honeywell (HON -0.1%) may be poised for gains once the "fiscal cliff" issue gets put behind us and budgets begin to bloom again. The company has created a radar technology designed to save the airline industry a fortune. The new radar system, designed for aircraft, can actually predict where dangerous weather will be from hundreds of miles away, thus allowing pilots to quickly adjust for severe weather and ensuing turbulence. In-flight turbulence causes more injuries on an airplane than anything else, and cost airlines on average $150K per incident. (Video) Comment!
- Thursday, November 15, 2012, 10:06 AM Boeing (BA +0.4%) confirms speculation that Honeywell (HON) and Rockwell Collins (COL +1%) will be important suppliers to the new fuel-efficient 737 Max jet, with Honeywell to provide electronic bleed air systems and Rockwell large-format displays for the flight deck. Boeing also says that it's finished the "first concept" of the Max, or defining it in broad terms. The jet remains on course for delivery in 2017. (PR) Comment!
- Thursday, November 15, 2012, 4:20 AM Honeywell (HON) and Rockwell Collins (COL) are poised to receive significant contracts to supply systems to Boeing's (BA) next-generation 737 Max jet, the WSJ reports, with an announcement expected today. The value of the agreements isn't clear, although they're important because Boeing has received 969 orders for the 737 Max, making it the plane company's fastest-selling model. Comment!
- Wednesday, November 14, 2012, 8:53 AM Honeywell's (HON) aerospace unit intends to double the number of engineers in China to 700 within the next five years as the company looks to muscle in on the country's attempts to build a plane-making industry. Honeywell is already working on four systems for Comac's 150-seat C919, and it's in talks with Aviation Industry Corp of China about developing a business jet. 1 Comment
- Thursday, November 8, 2012, 10:03 AM Honeywell (HON) unit UOP wins the third license for its methanol-to-olefins (MTO) technology, which converts methanol from coal into ethylene and propylene - building blocks for the production of films, packaging, plastics and other petrochemicals. The license comes from China's Shandong Yangmei Hengtong Chemicals. (PR) Comment!

Comment!
- Monday, October 29, 2012, 8:29 AM Honeywell (HON) gets upbeat about the corporate jet market, predicting that the number delivered will rise 9% globally this year and next, and will reach $250B worth by 2022. Honeywell's Rob Wilson even predicts a decoupling of U.S. corporate results and jet sales as demand grows in Asia and Latin America. In addition to Honeywell, those that should benefit include GD's (GD) Gulfstream, Textron's (TXT) Cessna, Bombardier and Embraer (ERJ). (PR) Comment!
