    Specialty retailer Hot Topic (HOTT +3.8%) ticks higher late in the day after Piper Jaffray ups the stock to neutral. Piper cites improving top-line trends in its Torrid division and a solid H2 licensing pipeline with the upcoming release of a new Twilight movie.

    Hot Topic (HOTT) has been climbing this morning to an 8.1% gain after announcing it would shutter 40-50 underperforming stores and cut 14% of positions in HQ and field management. The retailer reported in-line EPS of $0.05 for the third quarter on $183M in revenue.
