(hereafter referred to as the "Company", "we", "us" or "our"), was incorporated under the laws of the State of Delaware on February 3, 1940, and is successor to a business originally organized in 1920. - Thursday, May 2, 11:57 AM EOG Resources (EOG +0.6%) could see 25% annual oil production growth in coming years, and its stock trades at cheaper multiples than rivals, RBC says as it adds EOG to its "energy best ideas" list. The firm also adds Oceaneering (OII +2.3%); it boots Helmerich & Payne (HP +1.9%) and Precision Drilling (PDS +1%), whose U.S. rig counts have not risen as quickly as expected, as well as Continental Resources (CLR -0.8%). Comment! [Energy, Quick Ideas, On the Move]
- Thursday, April 25, 1:09 PM Average rig revenue/day rose $215 in FQ2 to $28,255, according to Helmerich & Payne (HP -2.4%) management, speaking on the earnings call. Average rig expense/day, however, rose $451 to $13,085, with $174 of that due to bad debt. Without the bad debt reserve, expense/day would have been inline with expectations for $12,900. Average rigs in operation rose to 243 from 236. Earnings earlier. Comment! [Energy, On the Move]
- Monday, March 18, 11:16 AM Helmerich & Payne (HP -3.7%) is the biggest loser in the S&P 500 after the contract driller says its operational outlook for Q2 is unchanged and its active rig count remains flat in a presentation for Howard Weil's energy conference. Pricing currently remains strong yet is also "under downward pressure" as competitors are aggressively pricing rigs to recapture market share. Comment! [Energy, On the Move]
- Thursday, February 14, 3:59 PM It's a glorious day for the energy and oil services sectors, powering to the top of the Wall Street leaderboard after Goldman Sachs says January marked a "turnaround" in profitability for the group. Among the day's top gainers: HAL +6.2%, NBR +4.3%, SLB +3.7%, HP +3.3%, WFT +2.5%, BHI +2.4%. ETFs: OIH +2.9%, XES +2.9%, XLE +0.8%. 1 Comment [Energy, On the Move]
- Thursday, December 13, 2012, 2:11 PM Nabors Industries (NBR -5.2%) is downgraded to Underperform from Hold with a $13 price target (down from $15) by Jefferies, which says "we lack confidence that NBR can recover significant market share in U.S. land, see some risks to our flat dayrate outlook and lower our pressure pumping outlook for '13." Among land drillers, the firm prefers Helmerich & Payne (HP -1.5%). Comment! [Energy, Quick Ideas, On the Move]
- Tuesday, October 16, 2012, 12:23 PM Helmerich & Payne (HP +2.5%) moves up on RBC Capital's upgrade and raised target price (to $58 from $54) based on early indications that 2013 E&P capex budgets will gain ~10%-20% Y/Y. RBC also believes rig quality, well capitalized customer base and contract visibility gives HP the best relative position among land drillers in 2013. Comment! [Energy, Quick Ideas, On the Move]
- Tuesday, July 3, 2012, 8:40 AM GMX Resources (GMXR) +10.4% premarket after announcing the spudding of an eighth Bakken well in North Dakota. GMXR has a 50% working interest in the Basaraba 24-35-1H, with a proposed total depth of 20,950 ft. and proposed total vertical depth of 11,221 ft. The well was spud with an Helmerich & Payne (HP) FlexRig 3. 2 Comments [Energy, On the Move]
- Tuesday, January 31, 2012, 2:05 PM Driller Helmerich & Payne (HP +3.27%) moves up after its FQ1 earnings beats estimates. Profit rose an impressive 39% Y/Y as better performance from its U.S. land operations and a jump in rig utilization offset weaker numbers from its international land operations. Comment! [Energy, On the Move]
- Thursday, December 8, 2011, 11:16 AM Goldman Sachs resumes coverage of oil service stocks (OIH -2%) with an Attractive rating, noting that "U.S. land rig demand has just entered the second phase of a multi-year pickup." Helmerich & Payne (HP -1%) and Halliburton (HAL +0.8%), down 35% from its recent peak and priced near its historical cyclical-low multiples, are added to its Conviction Buy List. Comment! [Energy, On the Move]

Acer, Sony (SNE), HP, Toshiba, and Nokia (NOK) skip Win RT due to MSFT Surface RT. DELL, others plan on <50k units http://goo.gl/ehGwr - View all 7 replies

Dennis Baker: From what I understand, the Surface RT is more or less a premium/ high end offering. Doesn't leave a ton of room for Nokia's margins. -

Ocean Man: coffee shops, taco trucks, etc. Hill - Watford City or Dickinson on the west side are biggest / closest. I'm basing at Medora which I find -
Ocean Man: more pleasant, it's more of a "town square" quaint little camping / RV town w/ good food, less of a roughneck oil town.
