Friday, April 19, 10:55 AM Shares of Healthways (HWAY +17.7%) soar this morning after its Q1 easily beat Street estimates. Despite the beat, Net losses widened amid weaker margins and flat revenue, as the company continues to feel the impact of winding down its contract with Cigna (CI). Revenue attributable to CI and another terminated contracts totaled just $1.4M, compared with $19.7M a year earlier. Nevertheless, the company reafirms its guidance for FY13, saying it expects sales of between $710M - $727M, bracketing Street guidance. Comment! [Healthcare]

Monday, November 19, 2012, 1:53 PM Healthways (HWAY +0.7%) intends to include a proposal in its proxy statement for its 2013 annual meeting of stockholders to eliminate it's classified board structure and elect directors on an annual basis. The proposal, which was unanimously approved by the Board of Directors, must be approved by stockholders at the 2013 Annual Meeting. Net earnings fell 47% Y/Y as revenue was hurt by the continued wind-down of a contract with Cigna Corp. (CI).
