The Swiss ETF - EWL seems to always an average performer.Others like EWG,EWD are probably better bets. ReplyExchange-Traded Funds and Closed-End Funds by Asset Class, Type and Provider [view article]

AJ30No I have not studied separate commodities in this way yet, but I will put that sub-category study into my list of future studies. Some will be easier than others to gather information. HIstory for majors like gold and oil is easy, but minors may not be so easy to find.
Thanks.

This is an amazing study, and very well presented. Thank you. Have you done the same study for major classes of Commodites such as Gold, Siver, Copper or Coal or Fertilizer? If so please share. ReplyTiedeman

Not well presented for the user. See fundadvice.com for a vastly more helpful documentation, greater choices and lowest costs. And the portfolios also have a track record as good as this one, and in some cases better. I have run my buy and hold on Vanguard funds for ten years and I have, until recently, beaten the SP by 2-4% per year. ReplyIndexing Our Global Market Portfolio [view article]

What weight to assign to each assett class and what ETF's for the foreign bonds-BWX? ReplyIndexing Our Global Market Portfolio [view article]
This is excellent analysis. It refutes what David Swenson of Yale says when he stated recently that the retail investor shouldn't and couldn't do what he does.Although not precisely the same obviously as the active team that MR. Swneson leads to manage Yales billions, this apporach represents a way forward.
In fact, you present a way, as others have done, for a retail investor to passively allocate assets globally, and rationally. Thanks for the article. Reply

I'll admit I'm wet behind the ears, but I haven't quite figured out if this was supposed to say anything. I guess it's a hey,-I-wonder-what-we-... make-of-this? article. Mr. Picerno didn't give any application, and I definitely need the "so what" spelled out for me. ReplyThe Wind

Two of those that went down also just gave (very respectable) dividends within the last day or so. Perhaps more. Maybe the ones that haven't are close to an ex-date? Grain of salt, gang. Reply
