We'll never see this "chart" on Kudlow. Have we seen a bottom yet? Not sure about that ... butt ... I've seen and listened to a lot of asses giving advice. Reply

The Advancing minus Declining Volume line has also broken to new lows.
This does not bode well for the stock market, and confirms that my economic indicators pointing to a recession are valid.
Despite the tax rebate the ratio of ND/Durable Goods consumption keeps rising, allowing for less discretionary spending needed to stimulate the economy

MMR is one of the best run exploration companies in the world. As of this report YTD performance was 109%. I believe that year-end performance for 2008 will be +400%. MMR is a well managed company, solid balance sheet, new / innovative technology, attractive sector and bright sales and earnings prospects. Reply

Small and mid-cap stocks historically tend to do somewhat better going into market (and business cycle) bottoms, and much better coming off bottoms. Large caps tend to outperform later in the cycle as we near tops.

Appreciate the fine research numbers - thanks.

After yesterday, it is now 29%. I find it interesting, though, how much better smaller stocks are doing. In the S&P 600, the number is 47%. Reply

Correct about what?? The article is informational..there is no analysis or conclusion drawn. Also paulwhatever..energy is not a "bubble." It's based on supply and demand...bubbles don't take money from other sectors because of consumer costs..they add to other sectors. Oil is a cost of doing business...corrections because of demand destruction are always somewhere down the road..in fact, decreasing US demand may be close at hand. Reply

    Wow

You mean with the country's leadership of oil executives, the highest gainer in wealth over the last presidency was energy. I can't believe that happened.

you are absolutely correct, there is one big caveat.

The percentage of the S&P reached should also approximate the percentages reached by those previous Bubbles.

Two sd are interesting only if we assume we are dealing with normal distribution. This is not that case, the bias which is pushing the markets is not going to move within a 4 sd range. Your advice on materials is not reasonable, the over bought condition will become horrendious before it does more than briefly correct. Your analysis is unsupportable. Reply

I'm with CloroxCowboy on this one...all you do is present statistics with no conclusion or analysis. In fact, having read a number of your articles over the past few days, the same pattern occurs in almost all of them.

Bottom line: If you don't bring anything to the table, I ( and probably many others ) will simply put you on the "ignore " list.

    i'll supply the analysis.....

"In the same way, the last will be first, and the first will be last, because many are called, but few are chosen."

don't take my word for it....it's straight from the big guy.
