Acura' Acurox: A Revenue-Deterrent Formulation of Oxycodone [view article]
Name one that cannot be circumvented by taking excessive doses intact?-

Aside from a pro-drug approach like NRP's which cannot be used for analgesics.

"Where I think they get it wrong is that all of the tamper technologies are bypassed by taking them orally, intact"

That's where your assumptions are dead wrong. Do some homework.

I think you are wrong in several aspects of describing the KG call spread. Even if the stock is above $10 at expiration, it has to be above $10.80 before the trader hits break even. Anywhere above $10.80 (to infinity even) is profitable. Even if it goes above $12.50, it will be profitable. The maximum profit is $1.70 and that profit will be had anywhere from $12.50 and above. Actually, this is a very well thought out article. The use of niacin as a detterent s a bone headed maneuver. Why treat all of the patients as abusers, which is what adding a pharmacological deterrent is doing? Where I think they get it wrong is that all of the tamper technologies are bypassed by taking them orally, intact. Therefore they are all faulted Take two ER 40mg to get the effect of one IR 30mg. They are right in that the FDA also will not allow label claims unless post marketing studies validate the claims. That goes for Remoxy also. Post marketing studies will take years but that helps King. I can always get 10 addicts to say that Remoxy is harder to snort than the old OxyContin. That is a study to submit. I think the key for King is to price it a cheaply as possible and pull market share. Reply

doug, Endo (Durect) is working on one however they are working on the extended release not the immediate release that Acura has put together. There are multiple competitors in this sector, but unlike most extended release versions Acura targets the immediate release market. In addition Acura's patented platform has several trailing drugs in the works and can also be applied to over the counter medicines. Oh, and the whole thing is global, not just in the U.S.

Also, this article was taken from this bogus company's website and until they were called out last night they only had one link on the entire site which was that to this attempt to bash Acura. back is right and someone desperately wants to spread false information about Acura.

The article is from a ficticious research company. Do some digging and try to find a legit researcher or firm called BioLogics, LLC. Same article was posted on Yahoo's finance message board under both King and Acura. Looks like someone is going to lose their shorts...LOL

Old data and incorrect information. Typical example of what's wrong with the internet.

I believe Durect - ticker drrx -are working on the same problem - abuse of Oxycodone and again - I believe - they expect to receive FDA approval in the winter if I'm not mistaken, for their offering to provide the same pain relief in a difficult-to-abuse formula. Reply

With the DJIA trading near it's 50-min highs, I am very BULLISH, going into Tuesday. I look for the market to continue setting new highs, over the next few hours... Long-term, into the late-morning, I expect some profit-taking, as investors lock-in profits. By afternoon, I believe that this BULL will continue to run, setting more new 50-min highs, but a lot can happen in four hours, so I'm keeping an eye on the exit. I used to "buy and hold," allowing certain positions to carry over from one day to the next, but since January of this year, I've found that to be rather unprofitable. My portfolio is up over 30% YTD, even though I've lost about 5%, since July 1. Today, I'll be watching to see if the action in solar and fertilizer stocks, continues. Yesterday, some performed very nicely, but that was yesterday, so I'll be looking into other sectors, as well. I *still* think that solar, fertilizer and materials are part of a bullish mega-trend, which could continue for a very long time, perhaps, even into next week! That will afford many opportunities to trade in and out, as they continue to climb, albeit unevenly. It's almost 6 hours until the markets reopen, so I intend to take a well-deserved vacation, then get up early to read the news. The future is very bright, if you can just ignore the flickering. Reply

I don't think the S&p 500 will see 1400 again this year. Over the weekend Peter Schiff spoke to Barron's. He thinks the U.S is in trouble. There will always be good stock in any market, but most people will lose in declining market. Investing in foriegn markets is best. Reply
