    Anyway, I am very suspicious when a longstanding privately-held corporation decides its time to go public.It usually means they have wrung all the profits and growth prospects out of it and want to relieve themselves of holding the stock bag when the company goes public. Reply

    Felix is right, lending is a good business if your loans are not securitized and have to be marked to market. Spreads are great with LIBOR in the 2s% and commercial loans 7% and much higher. Reply

    Felix,
    Nice thing about you is your optimism on everything financial. Talking with executives in companies that have a chart like KKR is not very instructive. These guys are overleveraged and the market knows it and shows it in the chart. Your investment tools should include chart interpretation. A chart is worth a thousand earnings forecast.

    The Hedge funds and private investing are the worst enemy
    of the private investor. Globalization is great...but all of
    the European countries are trying to regulate thes mavericks
    who will bring us all down. TRAP is an a propos ETF name.
