EBIT margins improve 60 basis points in the face of lackluster market demand growth. The "significant increase in stock price" over Q1 contributed to an "unusually high accrual for TSR-driven and other stock-based compensation plans," resulting in a $0.03 hit to EPS. Net earnings soared however, as the diversified manufacturer posted a tax credit and margins widened to 20.8% from 16.7%. The company widens its FY13 earnings outlook, now expecting between $1.50 to $ 1.75 a share, largely due to higher expected sales and growing margins.
