- Wednesday, January 16, 1:56 PM Lennar Corp. (LEN) sends another sign that the housing market may be heating back up. The largest U.S. homebuilder by market value says it intends to diversify into apartments with the construction of $1B of multi-family properties as rental demand climbs. The company plans to dump over $560M this year alone into the construction of communities, starting with 316 unit community in Jacksonville and another 264 units in suburban Atlanta. 2 Comments [U.S. Economy]
- Tuesday, January 15, 7:21 AM More on Lennar (LEN) Q4 earnings: What's to say - it's good to be a homebuilder right now. Home deliveries +32% Y/Y with average sale prices +7%. Sales incentives averaged 9% vs. 12.2% a year ago. Gross margins of 23.5% vs. 19.4% a year ago. Shares - taking a breather after a torrid run - off 1.6% premarket. (PR) Comment! [Earnings]
- Tuesday, January 15, 6:16 AM Lennar (LEN): Q4 EPS of $0.56 beats by $0.11. Revenue of $1.35B in-line. (PR) Comment! [Earnings, Breaking News]

- Monday, January 14, 5:30 PM Notable earnings before Tuesday’s open: FRX, LEN Comment! [Earnings]
- Monday, December 31, 2012, 6:15 PM One of the year's biggest payoffs comes from a contrarian bet on the most hated sector on the planet: long the housing sector. While the risk was large, the payday was larger. The iShares U.S. Home Construction ETF (ITB) surged more than 75% in 2012, boosted by homebuilders such as Pulte Homes (PHM) and Lennar (LEN) doubled or nearly doubled and construction-related stocks like Home Depot (HD) also soared. Comment! [U.S. Economy]
- Thursday, December 27, 2012, 7:17 AM Lennar's (LEN) Rialto Capital subsidiary yesterday announced the closing of its second real estate investment fund with $260M in commitments (including $100M by Lennar). Amidst the building slump of a couple of years ago, Rialto was set up to invest in distressed real estate assets. (PR) Comment! [U.S. Economy]
- Thursday, October 11, 2012, 12:45 PM MKM Partners is recomending that investors take some profit off the table in the homebuilders as sales growth looks to be slowing. it cuts Ryland Group (RYL) to Sell, and D.R. Horton (DHI) and Lennar (LEN) to Neutral. (I, II, III) Comment! [On the Move]
- Tuesday, October 2, 2012, 11:28 AM KB Home (KBH +1%) suffers only a brief dip before recovering with the general market this morning, following a downgrade to Sell by Citigroup on valuation. Citi says the company is over-leveraged relative to its peers, and will likely need to raise capital to reduce its interest drag and scale up inventory. Separately, it ups Lennar (LEN +0.8%) to Neutral from sell, citing cautious optimism over a bump in housing starts. 1 Comment [On the Move]
- Tuesday, October 2, 2012, 6:09 AM Lennar (LEN) declares $0.04/share quarterly dividend, in line with previous. Forward yield 0.46%. For shareholders of record Oct 15. Payable Oct 29. Ex-div date Oct 11. (PR) Comment! [Dividends]
- Thursday, September 27, 2012, 2:05 PM The markets are shrugging off a Susquehanna downgrade of a number of homebuilding stocks today, as they trade higher with the broader market after coming after a sizeable selloff in recent days. The firm says that optimism in the sector has taken valuations to ridiculous levels that can't be sustained. It cuts: DR Horton (DHI +1%), Lennar (LEN +2.8%) and Toll Brothers (TOL -0.2%) all to negative (I,II,III). Comment! [Consumer]
- Tuesday, September 25, 2012, 7:57 AM A group of homebuilders gets a downgrade from previously bullish Barclays, which says a lack of large cap ways of playing the sector has driven prices on the stocks to overvalued levels. Getting touched: TOL, LEN, DHI. Homebuilder ETF: XHB -1.1% premarket. Comment! [Quick Ideas]
- Monday, September 24, 2012, 1:13 PM Homebuilders slip despite a strong report from Lennar (LEN -2%) earlier today. MarketWatch's Sam Mamudi warns that much of the sector has already had a huge bounce, and with a slew of housing data due out this week, most of it is second-tier stuff and already baked into share prices, so we could be in for some heavy profit-taking on some of the bigger movers in the sector: TOL-1%, DHI -1.7%, HOV -1.3%, PHM -1.3%. ETFs: XHB -1.2%, ITB -1.4%. 1 Comment [U.S. Economy, On the Move]
- Monday, September 24, 2012, 7:02 AM More on Lennar (LEN): Deliveries +28% Y/Y, New Orders +44%, Backlogs +79%. Gross margin of 23.2%, +210 basis points. "The housing market has stabilized and the recovery is well underway," says a clearly excited CEO Stuart Miller, who - other than noting rising materials and labor costs - can't find even a slightly cautious thing to say. Shares +6.2% premarket. (PR) Comment! [U.S. Economy, Earnings]
- Monday, September 24, 2012, 6:06 AM Lennar (LEN): FQ3 EPS of $0.40 beats by $0.12. Revenue of $1.1B (+34% Y/Y) beats by $50M. (PR) Comment! [Earnings]
- Sunday, September 23, 2012, 5:30 PM Notable earnings before Monday’s open: LEN Comment! [Earnings]

golfrattt: Banks manipulating the RE market, but rates are rising, which doesn't bode well for home prices. Banks are the root of all market evils. -
Cabeza Howe: What's your idea on how to benefit from this evil bank dominance?

$LEN reports earnings of $0.56, 10 cents ahead of whisper number. Price movement expectation here: http://seekingalpha.com/a/nszp - View all 8 replies
-
WhisperNumber: Let's get more specific: LEN only has a 50% reaction accuracy. Not what we consider a 'whisper reactor'. -
Gabu: ok. The Uptick/Downtick ratio shows money is flowing-in, then I am unable to understand how the price can go down with inflow of money.

$LEN beats. Check out the backlog increase (+87%) and the home price increase. Recovery continues, but at 26x fowd earnings, kinda rich. - View all 0 replies
