Is this a buy or a sell? ReplyLeapfrog's Option Exchange Makes Sense [view article]
Pay employees; otherwise they keep one eye on work and one eye on the ticker in good times; in bad times they get depressed--when you need them. At Simply Magazine we pay people a bonus sum for IRAs, stock option, and equivalents. Then we expect them to work. It is good because then you don't get caught up in this Leapfrog nonsense. Still sounds like a disaster, despite mgt's heroic efforts. The decline is decelerating, but it is still substantial. However, mgt gets credit for a solid effort as the writer says. ReplyLeap Frog's 'Ribeting' New Product Line [view article]

Good info, thank you. ReplyLeapFrog Stock Should Rise On Christmas Buying [view article]
If you bought in March you most likely paid between $10 and $10.50 per share. LF closed at $9.23 today and hit a low of $6.80 at the end of August and early September. I would characterize it as Mr. Toad's Wild Ride rather than a winner. Of course your thesis may prove correct and LF may exceed estimates this holiday season. Todd, one can learn a great deal about a company by tracking their job postings (all levels), and studying how they are strategically filling critical posts. Perhaps you already do that, as most investors should. In the case of Leap Frog, there has been significant hiring over the past few years, and the positions they are hiring for are truly critical for the success of the business. Did they hire the right people? Unfortunately, I was not there for the interviews, but one can make some deductions or inferences from the job descriptions. That way you can basically shadow the company's execution strategy, albeit through the veil of HR.Bill Gates did the same with Google (and he should have because Google was hiring from the same Microsoft pool).
I don't want to do your homework for you Todd, suffice it to say that I was not surprised by the recent results. Can they adjust or correct? Maybe, but they have been trying to do that for some time now.
Disclosure: I do not hold any position in LF. Reply
