- Tuesday, April 16, 1:51 PM Logitech (LOGI +4.3%) catches a bid after announcing the $350 Harmony Ultimate and the $130 Harmony Smart Control. The Ultimate, a top-of-the-line universal remote, sports a 2.4" touchscreen, can control up to 15 devices, has a tilt sensor, and can program Philips Hue lighting systems. The Smart Control combines a basic universal remote with a smartphone app said to be capable of controlling 225K+ home theater devices. Logitech's remote sales fell 24% Y/Y in the Dec. quarter. (PR) Comment! [Tech, On the Move]
- Thursday, January 24, 9:19 AM Logitech (LOGI) -9.1% after badly missing FQ3 estimates. In response, the company plans to divest its Harmony universal remote and surveillance camera businesses, as well as discontinue other products such as speaker docks and console peripherals. FQ3 retail sales -14% Y/Y (-20% in EMEA) and OEM sales -23%. PC audio -19%, PC gaming -20%, remotes -24%. Tablet accessories +119% thanks to the Ultrathin Keyboard Cover. [On the Move] - Wednesday, January 23, 10:48 AM Logitech (LOGI +6.5%) says it will take a $211M write-down for its videoconferencing business, which has made $440M worth of acquisitions in recent years. Logitech notes the enterprise videoconferencing market "has experienced a slowdown in recent quarters" - Polycom and Cisco can vouch for that. Not mentioned are the competitive threats posed by cloud-based and network-based solutions. Shares are nonetheless up strongly; was a bigger write-down expected? 2 Comments [Tech, On the Move]
- Tuesday, January 15, 10:09 AM A day after rallying thanks to a Goldman upgrade, Logitech (LOGI -4.2%) is selling off following a downgrade to Underperform from Credit Suisse. Weak PC and home electronics peripherals sales continue to make life tough for Logitech, which just saw a CEO change. 1 Comment [Tech, On the Move]
- Tuesday, November 20, 2012, 3:24 PM Logitech (LOGI -2.6%) is near 10-year lows again after H-P reported an awful quarter for its PC division, and Reuters took a close look at the peripherals maker's challenges. In addition to poor PC demand, Logitech has been hurt by a weak reception for audio products (headphones, Wi-Fi speakers, etc.) meant to exploit the mobile device boom, and has to deal with efforts from OEMs to sell their own accessories. Going forward, a lack of gesture/voice recognition solutions could present a challenge. Comment! [Tech, On the Move, Quick Ideas]

[On the Move] - Thursday, October 25, 2012, 10:16 AM Logitech (LOGI -10.5%) becomes the latest PC-centric name to fall after a weak earnings report. In addition to missing FQ2 estimates, the company warned its fiscal 2H sales and operating income will be down Y/Y. FQ2 OEM sales fell 27% Y/Y (weaker keyboard/mouse sales), echoing Microsoft's huge Windows sales drop, while retail sales fell 5%. Audio sales -14%, Video -17%, Harmony remote sales -14%, with units falling 31%. Gross margin was up 500 bps Q/Q and 210 bps Y/Y. (prepared remarks, slides - PDF) Comment! A payout at that level would result in a dividend of roughly $0.78/share, or 7.4% of Logtiech's current share price. (PR) Comment! [Tech, On the Move]
- Wednesday, May 23, 2012, 10:28 AM For whom the Dell tolls: As the IT giant's FQ1 miss and commentary lead to a tech selloff, PC-related names get hit harder than most, no doubt thanks to the 10% drop seen in Dell's (DELL -15.8%) notebook sales. Rival H-P (HPQ -4.4%), due to report this afternoon, is among the biggest losers. Also selling off: INTC -3.1%. MSFT -3.2%. AMD -3.1%. LOGI -3.3%. (more on DELL) 3 Comments [Tech, On the Move]
- Wednesday, May 16, 2012, 11:54 AM Logitech (LOGI +7.5%) surges a day after CEO Guerrino De Luca gave a fairly upbeat presentation (transcript) at a JPMorgan conference. While admitting Logitech has made bad calls in the past regarding product development, De Luca expressed optimism about his company's attempts to focus on a smaller number of differentiated products, may of which, such as new videoconferencing gear, are now aimed at the enterprise. 1 Comment [Tech, On the Move]

Transcend Asset: earth shattering of late. And they do have some nice Apple related stuff but Staples and FutureShop/ Best Buy don't carry them. -
Transcend Asset: Shelf space given to $LOGI products have shrunk. No massive display of products at stores for trial. See that as a horrible trend.
