Logitech (LOGI -2.3%) sells off thanks to a downgrade to Underweight from JPMorgan's Paul Coster, who thinks the "strong offerings" displayed by rivals at CES suggest market share losses are on the way. In particular, he thinks "lifestyle branded peripherals and accessories" from the likes of Skullcandy (SKUL) and Zagg (ZAGG) are a major threat to Logitech.

Even as Google (GOOG) introduces an Android-centric revamp of the platform, Logitech (LOGI) is giving up on Google TV, stating its decision to invest heavily in its unpopular Revue Google TV box was "a big mistake," and that no successor product will arrive. Logitech claims the Revue, along with "operational miscues in EMEA," cost it "well over $100M in operating profits."

Merrill's Jonathan Tseng is cutting Logitech (LOGI +3.2%) to Underperform, believing estimates for the PC peripherals maker remain too high even after last month's warning. Tseng also thinks a strengthening dollar could hurt Logitech's margins, and the iPad's (AAPL) cannibalization of the notebook market could hurt its wireless mouse business.

Gadgets that use Google TV (GOOG) software to connect televisions to the internet are selling so poorly that Logitech (LOGI), which makes the Revue set-top box and keyboard built on Google technology, says customer returns are outpacing sales. Logitech's price cut of the box to $99 from $249 "states loud and clear that Google TV is on its last legs."
