- Monday, June 18, 2012, 4:34 PM Liquidmetal Technologies (LQMT.OB) and Apple (AAPL) have agreed to extend a technology licensing agreement between the companies to Feb. 5, 2014. The original agreement, signed in 2010 and good through Feb. 2012, gave Apple exclusive rights to the use of a Liquidmetal alloy within consumer electronics gear. - Wednesday, April 18, 2012, 1:46 PM Microcap Liquidmetal Technologies (LQMT.OB +32%) soars on a rumor from Korea IT News that the next iPhone (AAPL) will make use of "liquid metal." However, AppleInsider is skeptical of the report given it also claims the next iPhone is expected to be announced in June instead of this fall. Liquidmetal, which sold Apple exclusive rights to a metal alloy in 2010, jumped in March on hopes of iPad-related sales. 5 Comments [Tech, On the Move]
