- Wednesday, April 17, 5:35 PM Notable earnings after Thursday’s close: ACTG, ALGN, AMD, BGS, CBST, CE, CMG, COF, CPHD, ETFC, GOOG, IBM, ISRG, LSCC, MSFT, RMBS, VMI, WIT Comment! [Earnings]
- Tuesday, March 19, 10:50 AM Lattice Semi (LSCC +7.5%) jumps after guiding for 6%-8% Q/Q revenue growth in Q1, well above prior guidance for a 2%-4% drop. Gross margin is expected to be at the low end of a prior guidance range of 52%-56% thanks to a greater mix of telecom and consumer chip sales. Bigger rivals Altera (ALTR +0.4%) and Xilinx (XLNX +1.5%) are up slightly. This morning, Xilinx introduced a new chip for its Zynq line of SoCs. By combining DSP and ARM CPU cores with Xilinx's programmable logic, Zynq expands Xilinx's reach within embedded markets. Comment! [Tech, On the Move, Earnings]

Midday top 10 gainers: EFII +15%. OSK +15%. SHIP +15%. SYNA +15%. LSCC +14%. NFLX +14%. QLGC +13%. BDR +13%. CIMT +13%. CRUS +12%.
Midday top 10 Losers: NFBK -27%. ZN -26%. SCSS -18%. SCSC -15%. BGMD -15%. CTRP -13%. HTCH -11%. EGHT -10%. ARWR -8%. MSL -7%. Comment! [On the Move] - Friday, January 25, 12:27 PM In spite of missing Q4 estimates and guiding for a 2%-4% Q/Q revenue drop for Q1 (consensus is for a 2% increase), Lattice Semi (LSCC +13.8%) is soaring today. Below-consensus guidance from larger rivals Altera and Xilinx had served to depress expectations. Also, Lattice's Q4 gross margin of 54.2% was at the high end of its guidance range, and in spite of the expected revenue drop, the chipmaker forecasts Q1 gross margin will be in a range of 52%-56%. - Thursday, January 24, 4:35 PM Lattice Semiconductor (LSCC): Q4 EPS of -$0.06 misses by $0.05. Revenue of $65.9M (-7.1% Y/Y) misses by $0.01M. Shares +2.5% AH. (PR) Comment! [Earnings, Tech, On the Move, Breaking News]
- Wednesday, January 9, 4:38 PM QuickLogic (QUIK) -9.1% AH after warning it expects to report Q4 revenue of $3.1M, below prior guidance of $3.4M (+/- 10%). No explanation is given for the shortfall. Bigger rival Altera (ALTR) lowered its guidance last month. Altera, Xilinx (XLNX), and Lattice Semi (LSCC) could trade lower following the warning. Comment! [Tech, On the Move, Earnings]
- Wednesday, December 12, 2012, 4:15 PM Lattice Semi (LSCC) +2.1% AH after warning it expects Q4 revenue to fall 6%-8% Q/Q, worse than prior guidance of -2% to +2% and a consensus for flat sales. Rival Altera lowered guidance last week, something (among other things) that probably served to depress expectations. Comment! [Tech, Earnings]
- Wednesday, October 24, 2012, 11:20 AM Though it beat Q3 estimates, Altera (ALTR -6.8%) is diving thanks to guidance for a 6%-10% Q/Q drop in Q4 revenue - the Street had been expecting a slight increase. During its earnings call, Altera partly blamed the decision of a top customer to migrate two high-volume FPGA designs (4% of Q3 revenue) to ASICs, though it also admitted it's seeing broad-based weakness. Rivals are off, as are some other chipmakers with strong telecom exposure. XLNX -1.5%. LSCC -2.1%. CAVM -3.5%. PMCS -3.2%. AMCC -3%. Comment! [Tech, Earnings, On the Move]
- Thursday, October 18, 2012, 7:33 PM Lattice Semiconductor (LSCC) says it's initiating a restructuring plan intended to further streamline its organization and to align its low density market strategy. The restructuring will consolidate sales and marketing in both the U.S. and Europe, with the elimination of subscale sites and middle management positions. Comment! [Tech]
- Thursday, October 18, 2012, 4:04 PM Lattice Semiconductor (LSCC): Q3 EPS of -$0.02 misses by $0.01. Revenue of $70.9M (flat% Y/Y) in-line. Shares +1.7% AH. (PR) Comment! [Earnings, Tech, On the Move]
- Thursday, July 19, 2012, 4:36 PM Lattice Semiconductor (LSCC): Q2 EPS of -$0.11 misses by $0.02. Revenue of $70.8M (-15.6% Y/Y) in-line. (PR) Comment! [Earnings, Tech]
- Thursday, June 14, 2012, 11:12 AM Lattice Semiconductor (LSCC) plummets 16.3% after an earnings warning in which it forecasts that Q2 revenue will be flat to -4% Q/Q, indicating sales of $69.5M-$71.7M. That's below consensus of $73.5M; the prior guidance had been flat to +4%. Lattice, which is suffering from a soft EU market, also cuts its gross margin forecast to 51% from 55%. (PR) Comment! [On the Move, Earnings, Tech]
- Friday, April 20, 2012, 12:43 PM Weak results and/or guidance (I, II, III, IV) from SanDisk (SNDK -13.4%), Freescale (FSL -7.9%), Lattice Semi (LSCC -9.4%), and Altera (ALTR -6.5%) is producing a selloff in chip stocks (SOXX -1.2%), which had been rallying on evidence of rebounding demand. Among the hardest hit (aside from the guilty parties): OVTI -3.9%. SWKS -3.9%. MU -3.7%. CRUS -3.1%. 5 Comments [Tech, On the Move]
