Metalline Mining: Panic Creates Opportunity [view article]
With a doubling in size (open pit scenario), this zinc resource is over 8 Billion $ (at $1 ZN). The market cap for this (MMG) junior is only 35 Million $...an egregious disconnect. Even at 90% discount, market cap would be 800 million and stock at near $20 share. And remember, these guys have a 25 km DISTRICT, this is only the first of many prospects on their land package!! Truly an outstanding buy here, and investment for $20 target next 24 months (buyout likely). If and when commodity cycle resumes, Zinc should be $2 in same time frame, and you can double again the price forcast for MMG. Reply

Great analysis, interesting option vying for the recent open pit mining, should see a good turnaround once peope realize today's $700B bailout will only mean one thing - higher commodity prices Reply

In terms of the economic cycle we are entering the late contraction stage which should last some 6 months. The sector expected to out-perform in this period is Financial Services; because of the significant fundamental risks, diversification is key - stay with XLF; any individual company can hurt bad. Also, stay underweight, or even pass on the sector; there will be other sector opportunities with far less risk later in the economic cycle.

The next cyclical opportunity is IT which should start out performance late Q1 09; this sector has very reasonable valuations about now and should be accumulated. After that is Discretionary, which like financial services has fundamental risks, but unlike financial services I believe the risks are largely priced; but this is a buy later story; Christmas could disappoint the sector this year, given the data flow on jobs and confidence.

Then will come materials, industrials and energy. At this point in time Basic Materials is providing an interesting trading opportunity; and perhaps a short term opportunity (3 to 6 months) too. But I expect the cyclical upturn to beginning and early expansion stage, coupled with the secular well being of the sector, to provide better opportunities in later in 09.

Stay clear of base metals. Slowing economy will erode demand. Better to be in gold and silver, metals that are seen as alternatives to fiat dollars. Reply

Base metals are a great place to be. They will flourish in this brave new, expanded world. Tungston, moly, nickle, zinc, lead, tin are in demand. The juniors will do excellently. Also rare earth minerals are needed. Look for up and coming juniors for sure. Uranium is down but it will hit big again.

One reason why is that many mines were closed during the era of cheap metals--mining was done in China and they sold cheap. Now they're limiting exports and we find we don't have enough of these base metals. Or we would find that if we'd wake up.

Even in a recession we will need the metals to replace infrastructure. Maybe even in a depression.

Our Favorite Stocks to Watch as the Gold Bull Kicks Back into Action [view article]
I am not avoiding silver. I am a huge fan of Silver Wheaton, which is a pure play on silver and included in our list of recommended stocks. I read both Ted Butler and Jason Hommel and agree that silver has some promising fundamentals. However, I expect gold to outperform silver during recessionary periods, which we should be approaching soon (despite rate cuts). Gold is more widely seen as a store of value and hedge against a declining dollar, while silver's price rise may be somewhat suppressed by declining industrial demand from a cooling economy, particularly developing nations. I could be wrong, but those are my thoughts. Reply

Why are you avoiding silver and Ted Butlers' work and credit to him? Last week the gold silver ratio was 56/1 this week it is less as expected and on the way to 1/1 over the next 8 to 15 years. Why not feature SIL, Apex Silver ? It is like a mutual fund of junior mining stocks that just begun producing silver, lead & zinc from a very major mine in Bolivia and has great political support in shakey suroundings. Those surroundings have overly depressed the stock into an addtional bargain beyond currancy and silvers low ball price. Reply

Are you at all concerned about MMG firing their auditor recently?

    5-Sep-2007

Changes in Registrant's Certifying Accountant, Financial Statements and Exhib

Item 4.01 Changes in Registrant's Certifying Accountant
On August 31, 2007 Metalline Mining Company (the "Company") notified Williams & Webster P.S. ("Williams & Webster") that it was dismissed as the Company's auditor effective immediately. The Company's Audit Committee had recommended that Williams & Webster be dismissed as the Company's independent registered public accounting firm.

On September 4, 2007, the Audit Committee and the Board of Directors approved the appointment of Hein & Associates LLP, certified public accountants, as its independent registered accounting firm.

William & Webster's principal accountant report on the Company's financial statements for both of the past two years did not contain an adverse opinion or disclaimer of opinion, nor was either modified as to uncertainty, audit scope, or accounting principles.

There were no disagreements with Williams & Webster on any matter of accounting principles, practices, financial statement disclosure, or auditing scope or procedure which if not resolved to Williams & Webster's satisfaction would have caused Williams & Webster to make reference to the subject matter of the disagreement in connection with its principal accounting reports.

The Company has provided Williams & Webster with a copy of these disclosures and has requested Williams & Webster furnish to the Company a letter addressed to the Securities and Exchange Commission stating whether William's & Webster agrees with the Company's statements in this report. Williams & Webster's letter is attached hereto as Exhibit 16.1.

Item 9.01 Financial Statements and Exhibits
    (d) Exhibits

    16.1 Letter of Williams & Webster, P.S. dated September 4, 2007.
