- Thursday, April 25, 4:55 PM Molina Healthcare (MOH): Q1 EPS of $0.64 beats by $0.39. Revenue of $1.59B in-line. (PR) Comment! [Earnings, Breaking News, Healthcare]
- Wednesday, April 17, 12:33 PM The big surge in health care stocks earlier this month just prior to the government's decision on Medicare Advantage rates may have been due to an email to sent by a former top congressional aide who now happens to be an outside lobbyist for Humana (HUM -1.9%). The email, which is now subject to an SEC probe, was sent to a Washington investment-research firm and circulated to clients just minutes before the close of trading, saying that "credible sources" had told them a decision had been made to restore the payments. 4 Comments [Healthcare]
- Friday, February 8, 2:42 PM Molina (MOH +9.2%) powers higher today after easily topping EPS estimates yesterday, but, while results were clearly strong, Deutsche's Scott Fidel wonders how far the company has gone to account for the impact of this year's intense flu session. "The one puzzling element... was that MOH only booked $5M of incremental costs for the flu relative to last year's quarter." Fidel says. This could put pressure on its Medical Loss Ratio in the coming quarter, "particularly since most of MOH's key markets were exposed to intense levels of flu related activity in either 4Q12 or 1Q13." Comment! [Healthcare, On the Move, Quick Ideas]
- Thursday, February 7, 7:38 PM More on Molina Healthcare (MOH): Q4 beats on a per share basis, swinging to a profit as the health-care company grew its revenue and membership, and as the year-earlier period was hurt by impairment charges. The medical cost ratio decreased to 86.1% from 90.6%, while total membership climbed 5.9% to roughly 1.8M from 1.7M a year earlier. Shares +7.4% AH. Comment! [Healthcare, Earnings, On the Move]

After-hours top gainers, as of 5:15 p.m.: XIDE +13%. LLNW +10%. LNKD +10%. MOH +7%. MCHP +7%.
After-hours top losers: NUAN -14%. CSTR -8%. RVBD -7%. BPZ -6%. MTOR -5%. Comment! [On the Move] - Thursday, February 7, 4:42 PM Molina Healthcare (MOH): Q4 EPS of $0.54 beats by $0.32. Revenue of $1.58B in-line. Shares +7.4% AH. (PR) Comment! [Earnings, Breaking News, Healthcare, On the Move]
- Tuesday, October 23, 2012, 5:50 PM More on Molina Healthcare (MOH) Q3 beats across the board, but posts sharply lower earnings from a year ago. Performance improved in Texas which helped the company rebound from big losses in Q2. Premium revenue for the third quarter of 2012 increased 31% over the third quarter of 2011, primarily due to an increase in membership, a shift in member mix to populations generating higher premium revenue per member per month, and benefit expansions. Comment! [Healthcare, Earnings]
- Tuesday, October 23, 2012, 4:50 PM Molina Healthcare (MOH): Q3 EPS of $0.07 beats by $0.18. Revenue of $1.54B beats by $30M. Shares +7.8% AH. (PR) Comment! [Earnings, Financials, On the Move]
- Tuesday, October 2, 2012, 9:58 AM Around 12M people will buy $55B worth of health coverage in 2014 via the insurance exchanges being created as part of Obamacare, PWC predicts, adding that the figures could rise to 29M people and $205B respectively by 2021. Most of the money will be new, although some will come from other parts of the market, such as from people whose employers had paid for coverage until now. 1 Comment [Healthcare]
- Friday, September 21, 2012, 3:23 PM Molina Healthcare (MOH +3%) gains after being upgraded to Positive at Susquehanna earlier today. Susquehanna cites the company's long-term earnings power and strength of its existing markets, plus the potential for new business awards in Florida and New Mexico. Comment! [Healthcare, On the Move]
- Tuesday, September 18, 2012, 4:10 PM Shares of Molina Healthcare (MOH -2.8%) succumb to a downgrade to Underperform on valuation at Jefferies, citing the health care provider's high execution risk. Jefferies says its high Medicaid focus is likely to have negative EPS this year. Comment! [Healthcare, On the Move]
- Monday, August 20, 2012, 12:03 PM Shares of Medicare and diversified health management companies drift lower on the back of the Aetna/Coventry deal: Health Net (HNT -1%), Molina Healthcare (MOH -1.8%), Magellan Health Services (MGLN -1%). Centene (CNC -5.8%) is getting particularly hard hit, because the managed care company could lose premium as no clear buyers of this government payer exist. Comment!
- Thursday, July 26, 2012, 6:13 PM Molina Healthcare (MOH): Q2 EPS of -$0.8 misses by $0.81. Revenue of $1.54B (+31.7% Y/Y) beats by $0.02B. Shares -0.9% AH. (PR) Comment! [Earnings]
- Wednesday, July 18, 2012, 4:05 PM Molina Healthcare (MOH +4.1%) finishes the day higher after announcing earlier that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has given the go ahead to implement its Medicaid Management Information System in Idaho. The system underwent stringent monitoring for a week, followed by further evaluation by the agency to successfully receive the certification. Comment! [Healthcare, On the Move]

Premarket gainers: FX +39%. AGP +38%. WCG +13%. CNC +13%. MOH +10%. NSPH +7%. AMPE +6%. WLP +5%.
Losers: BPI -28%. Comment! [On the Move] - Monday, July 2, 2012, 5:28 PM Health care stocks had a mixed run after last week's monumental Supreme Court decision. Despite the run-up in select names, CRT Capital's Sheryl Skolnick thinks any upside to the decision is going to be short lived. Any benefits coming from less bad debt are likely to be offset by slower reimbursement growth and fiscal belt-tightening. Besides, the law's major provisions won't kick in until 2014, and Republicans have vowed to repeal the law the first chance they get. 1 Comment [Healthcare]
