Sandisk Has Some Explaining to Do; Marvell's CFO Sets Up for Success [view article]
If the world of analysts only understood how difficult it is for CFOs to predict within a quarter what the results will be. A large portion of business in the semiconductor world is "turns" business. That is business booked and shipped within the quarter. This is why it is so difficult to manage a public semiconductor company. thank you shlomi for writing this article. I am a sandisk shareholder and am starving for information from the company. I will be anxiously waiting for your next report. ReplyMarvell Still Has Operational Challenges [view article]
This article suggests Marvell still has operational challenges to overcome, but only sites that Marvell is not supplying to Hitachi, with the speculation that it is due to DPM issues, as the only justification cited by the author for this premise. Can you be more specific as to the challenges that Marvell faces and since they have previously supplied to Hitachi can you confirm the reason they are not? You should be ashamed of yourself for manipulating this stock for your profit. See the backlash to your article today directly. We all assume you took a short position prior to submitting your article. I wish there was a law to protect us "small" investors". Replyn

Eli: Thanks for the comment on Rachel. The difference is in nuances, and in the ability to evolve over time. You have proven yourself fully, she is an unknown. You do a wonderful job. ReplyWall Street Breakfast: Must-Know News [view article]

Rachael is doing a great job...keep up the good work. I read WSB every morning and if it weren't for the picture and note of the authors name, I couldn't tell much difference. And to all you Obama fans, the numbers are correct....they are just painful to you. You Obama fans are just jealous that our VP candidate is better looking than yours...lol

"Conversely, the spread between GDP and GDI (gross domestic income) is the biggest in the post World War II era, which may signal talk of an economic recovery is premature."This rather brings to mind Henry Ford's comment that "The workers have to make at least enough to buy a Ford." Reply

Hi folks. An update: Rachael came on board with SA recently and is helping out with some of the duties, including filling in with the WSB when I'm out. This week was a training-in period for her. I think you'll agree her writing is superb, and she's a great addition to the team - not to speak of the mug shot 'upgrade.'Which reminds me: We're looking to hire a full-time, detail-oriented U.S.-based market follower with superb writing and blogging skills - mainly to help with our new Market Currents real-time blog. If you're interested, or can think of anyone, send me an email at eli [at] seekingalpha [dot] com. Reply

How can we be can tell if these calls are being bought or sold? The volume data does not show this information, so I'm curious what the direction of the trade since we presumably don't know on which side the market maker is. Reply
