Have some subjective sense. Google is a joke.If you own the stock and are [upset] keep it to yourself....we are so sick of plain non-sense. India’s Labor Arbitrage Strategy [view article]
End of the day..one cant disagree with you.But do think about this from the employee's shoes.Indian cities are becoming expensive.Forget small towns...the small towns still lack basic ammenities that they should have. Why would anyone want to work there ?Yes you can hire from the smaller towns itself and train them.Eventaully they would try moving into the larger cities for higher salary.
A lot I think has to be done from the government's side. The process of getting admission is messed up and the cost of higher education itself is increasing alarmingly.Cities cant support the growth anymore.Supply can be increased with a efficient education system, and growth can be distributed by making other locations attractive.Eg :Mysore near Bangalore has taken of a huge extent, but not Hubli,Mangalore or Dharwad .
I attended a informal session organized by few geeks all who were CEOs,CTOs etc of their startups ,few were in Wall street firms and all of them were against Outsourcing for their critical projects. Its scary... Reply

OTTAWA (AFP) - US presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton's campaign,
while rapping rival Barack Obama for telling US voters he is anti-NAFTA
and saying otherwise to Canada, tried to reassure Canada too, local
media said Thursday.
A top aide of Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper meanwhile was
identified as the likely source of an alleged leak that provoked a diplomatic
fiasco involving both US Democratic presidential contenders.
Last month, Harper's chief of staff, Ian Brodie, purportedly made impromptu
remarks to journalists about Clinton's US presidential bid, said Canadian
reports.
The offhand comments apparently sought to downplay the potential impact on
Canada of Clinton and Obama's attacks on the North American Free Trade
Agreement (NAFTA) during stops in the US state of Ohio.

Canadians deny Obama call
A spokesman for the Canadian Embassy to the United States, Tristan Landry,
flatly denied the CTV report that a senior Obama aide had told the Canadian
ambassador not to take seriously Obama's denunciations of NAFTA.
"None of the presidential campaigns have called either the ambassador or any
of the officials here to raise NAFTA," Landry said.
He said there had been no conversations at all on the subject.
"We didn't make any calls, they didn't call us," Landry said.
"There is no story as far as we’re concerned," he said.

I would think that both stocks should trade by year end at roughly a resonable 25x 09 earnings or 160 for AAPL and 600-620 for GOOG - Cramer I am sure has since disavowed his predictions! ReplyJim Cramer's 10 Predictions for 2008 [view article]

About Iraq on the Record
Presented by Rep. Henry A. Waxman
On March 19, 2003, U.S. forces began military operations in Iraq. Addressing the nation about the purpose of the war on the day the bombing began, President Bush stated: “The people of the United States and our friends and allies will not live at the mercy of an outlaw regime that threatens the peace with weapons of mass murder.” Two years later, many doubts have been raised regarding the Administration’s assertions about the threat posed by Iraq.
Prepared at the direction of Rep. Henry A. Waxman, Iraq on the Record is a searchable collection of 237 specific misleading statements made by Bush Administration officials about the threat posed by Iraq. It contains statements that were misleading based on what was known to the Administration at the time the statements were made. It does not include statements that appear mistaken only in hindsight. If a statement was an accurate reflection of U.S. intelligence at the time it was made, it was excluded even if it now appears erroneous. For more information on how the statements were selected, see the full methodology. The Iraq on the Record Report is a comprehensive examination of these statements.
Topics of the Statements. The 237 misleading statements can be divided into
four categories. The five officials made 11 statements that claimed that Iraq
posed an urgent threat; 81 statements that exaggerated Iraq’s nuclear activities; 84
statements that overstated Iraq’s chemical and biological weapons capabilities;
and 61 statements that misrepresented Iraq’s ties to al Qaeda.
Statements by President Bush. Between September 12, 2002, and July 17,
2003, President Bush made 55 misleading statements about the threat posed by
Iraq in 27 separate public appearances. On October 7, 2002, three days before the

EU Could Approve Google Acquistion of DoubleClick Soon [view article]
"LAS VEGAS (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp (NasdaqGS:MSFT - News) Chief Executive Steve Ballmer pledged on Thursday he will gain share against Google Inc (NasdaqGS:GOOG - News) in online advertising and Web searching even if it is in his "last breath" at the company."It may be.
As for us investors; the choice is clear: Google.
Even if Yahoo shareholders are dumbe enough to give Ballmer the "thumbs up"; the EU sure won't. They are smarter and less corrupt than OUR regulators. Reply

I would love to know more about this play for both MSFT and VCLK shareholders. What kind of strategy overall does this advance? Would this give MSFT the clout and energy plus the technology to beat GOOG in the Internet advert space? Either from the author of the piece or one of the commentors. Thanks.Ned Reply
Exchange Email Integration: RIMM's Lifeline in an iPhone World [view article]
iPhone just got exchange support, built in directly. Tons of other features, plus the development kit runs on Mac OS X--the Mac market is already exploding.RIMM is truely a dead man walking, it's just that many of it's investors don't realize it yet. RIMM is like 80's tech compared to iPhone. Microsoft? Don't make me laugh, they have never done anything original, there is no one to copy yet (it takes them about 10 years to come up with a weak copy of Apple's work.) Reply

"what is Citi book value?" Investors with a long term view will see this as a buying opportunity. ReplyWhy Microsoft Should Drop the Yahoo Bid and Buy ValueClick [view article]
It makes no sense for MSFT to buy valueclick. They got most of the things VCLK has when they bought AQNT. YHOO gives them the scale and platform to finally attack Google directly, which MSFT has never really been able to do on their own. Neither AQNT or VCLK lets them do. The Crooks are live and well:The Pledge Of Americans for Tax Reform - Grover Norquist
Now we don't even need to go into - How this group filed lawsuits

To this group Americans for Tax Reform.
Every Republican running for office - has to take this pledge -
Now when they pledge to this group - There not pledgeing there

So exactly who are these Republicans taking a pledge to???
There's an incredible story brewing in Washington that is too hot
for the networks to touch.
Grover Norquist, whom most conservatives know as Executive Director
of the College Republicans, boardmember of the NRA, and head of
Americans for Tax Reform, has been exposed as helping Muslim groups
and individuals who finance and support Islamic terrorism gain access
to the Bush White House.
"""Norq... has also been exposed as the founder of the Islamic Insitute,
a group believed to be funded by foreign governments, Wahhab Islam
elements in Saudi Arabia, and U.S. Muslim groups recently raided by a
special Treasury Department task force for funding Al Qaeda and Palestinian
terrorists. The Islamic Institute's website lists the following goals.""&quo...

Court documents to be made public today will trace in rich detail an explosive
allegation that Alamoudi made in plea negotiations with prosecutors -- that Libyan
leader Moammar Gaddafi plotted to assassinate Crown Prince Abdullah, de facto ruler
of Saudi Arabia...
His arrest last September shook the U.S. Muslim community and reverberated through
Washington's political elite. As leader of the American Muslim Council, Alamoudi
met on occasion with senior Clinton and Bush administration officials. He also helped
found the Pentagon's Muslim chaplain program and is particularly well known in the
Muslim community of Northern Virginia, where he helped run a number of charities
and political groups.
