S&P 500 Stocks Furthest Above and Below Their 50-Day Moving Averages [view article]
I don't think the S&p 500 will see 1400 again this year. Over the weekend Peter Schiff spoke to Barron's. He thinks the U.S is in trouble. There will always be good stock in any market, but most people will lose in declining market. Investing in foriegn markets is best. Wall Street Breakfast: Must-Know News [view article]
Re: Opening banks to private equity:In business, once you have played all of your cards of maximizing efficiency and optimizing products and marketing, the final thing that one can do to increase returns is to increase risk. It certainly seems as if this is the point where the Fed is treading these days. The moves to date have been creative and, it would seem, effective; however, safeguards are being whittled down one at a time. they are there for reasons that have not gone away. Reply

It is fact that Citigroup had been offered over $50 billion for their real estate owned properties that devaluate day by day, so can someone please tell me why they would hold onto what is obviously a distressed asset like this? That offer, by the way, was made about a year ago."Citi never sleeps" That's right, it isn't sleep it's a coma. Reply
The House of Medicis - Cramer's Mad Money, (6/20/08) [view article]
Regarding PhillyD's comment about OGX. Is that the correct symbol? I've had a long term interest in PICO and water rights. Thank you. ReplyThe House of Medicis - Cramer's Mad Money, (6/20/08) [view article]
Oilsands Quest. The amount of land has constantly been misquoted from Cramer on down. They do not have 500,000 acres leased but over 700,000. Then if you take Cramer's real estate play terms the stock should be (if they paid the same per $2.8 mil per acre as Ivanhoe recently paid) $24.00 per share and not $16.00. Then if you only value half of that (why only half?) the stock would be worth $12.00 not $8.00.But real estate aside they have found oil on each test drill. Their Axle Lake Discovery is in hand. The amount will be independently announce sometime in July/August.
There is a very real possibility that they are sitting on way more than 10 billion barrells of oil equivlant. They will be exploring those 700,000 acres for more than any of our lifetimes. They are bringing in the equipment as we speak to begin and the town where this is happening has already voted "YES" to have them come in and do their thing.
Speculative? Yep. But where else are we going to find a potential $100-200 value, in the most sought after commodity on earth, for a mere $6-7 per share?
See what happened when OGX went public last week? 6 billion in market cap in one day and all they have is water rights. BQI has already found oil and is currently market capped at 1.4 billion. I like my chances. Reply

"Apple, on the other hand, needs a constant string of innovations every year . . ." shows you have not understood Apple. This is a single minded, integrated and very ambitious 10-20 year plan, not a string of disjoint fashion-powered innovations. Keep watching; more stuff will be happening soon. ReplyTime To Take Profits in Chip Stocks? [view article]
Agreed to Mr. Rebeldog:The chip market was favorable across the board in Q1 and were expecting an even more favorable Q2. The gains have been good if you timed it well, but it will probably go up another few points (at least) until it the companies level out because they didn't solve world hunger or something. Reply

Mr. Savitz:Such short-term market timing has most often proved fruitless --- and costly.
The best to those who follow this advice.

Oil Takes a Breather - Fast Money Recap (5/22/08) [view article]
I agree.I have a couple of Mercedes, and rented a Ford Fusion "SEL" this weekend. I was impressed with the style, fit, finish and driveability. The Edge also looks unique and quality.I think flex fuel/hybrids would be a great idea for Ford.Japanese cars are reliable, but Ford has an "edge" (pun intended) now in styling and getting closer in quality finish to the Japanese competition. Oil Takes a Breather - Fast Money Recap (5/22/08) [view article]
Ford... Ford.... Ford.... They are so out of touch with the consumer it blows my mind. Finally in 07-08 they are now making cars that at least are not an embarrassment to drive. The cars look quite nice. However, they need to be on the same bang wagon as GM with making everything Flexfuel. Its only an additional $1100 and could save a family $2000/yr in fuel. If they want to sell some cars one good marketing idea would be to offer free flex fuel conversions (its mostly labor). Sales would sky-rocket... and I would purchase that Ford Edge and drop my long-term affair with Honda/Acura. Reply
