- Tuesday, June 18, 12:52 PM Argentina's Santa Cruz province slaps a 1% annual tax on mine resources, a move mining companies say they will challenge in court. While the percentage seems small, miners say it will cost them $100M in new taxes next year, as the tax amounts to ~8% of the total resources of a mine with a 15-year life. Among miners with operations in Santa Cruz: AU -3.5%, MUX -2.3%, GG -2.5%, PAAS -1.4%. Comment! [Commodities, On the Move]
- Monday, June 10, 7:20 PM McEwen Mining (MUX) cuts its 2016 production view to 225K gold equivalent oz. from 290K, which it says could reduce capex requirements to the point where "cash reserves and cash flow from operations could be sufficient to fund the majority of revised production growth." 1 Comment [Commodities]

Premarket gainers: GNW +8%. MUX +5%.
Losers: NBG -9%. DKS -8%. Comment! [On the Move] - Friday, February 8, 12:18 PM McEwen Mining (MUX -2%) is initiated with a Buy rating and $3.75 price target at Stifel Nicolaus, which says MUX is entering a period of accelerated production growth from a recent 10% increase in throughput capacity at its San Jose mine, ramping up of gold production from El Gallo Phase I, and development of both El Gallo Phase II and Gold Bar. 2 Comments [Commodities, Quick Ideas, On the Move]
- Friday, November 23, 2012, 12:14 PM McEwen Mining (MUX +6.2%) says it may sell its Los Azules copper project to free up cash for precious metals exploration projects in Argentina, Mexico and the U.S. Los Azules is worth ~$535M, based partly on the deposit’s 15B lbs. of copper resources, but could cost almost five times that to develop, and a junior miner isn't likely to come up with the necessary $2.5B. 2 Comments [Commodities, On the Move]
- Wednesday, November 14, 2012, 8:58 AM McEwen Mining (MUX) +3% premarket on news it settled ongoing litigation with TNR Gold (TRRXF.PK) concerning Los Azules, a copper project in Argentina, and that the settlement clears the way for further exploration and drilling activities. Comment! [Commodities, On the Move]

Q2 production rose 9% Q/Q and 17% Y/Y. Comment! [Commodities]
- Wednesday, August 8, 2012, 10:20 AM McEwen Mining (MUX +4.6%) says drilling in its El Gallo Phase 1 production area in Mexico encountered more gold. One of the holes returned 1.3 gpt gold over 41.2 meters, plus new zinc, silver and lead intercepts. Comment! [Commodities, On the Move]
- Monday, July 16, 2012, 5:27 PM McEwen Mining (MUX) announces "good" Q2 production results for the San Jose mine in Argentina, with gold and gold equivalent ounces up 9% Q/Q and up 17% Y/Y.
