Friday, May 17, 4:40 PM Maxwell Technologies (MXWL) says on May 14 it received an additional notification letter from the Listing Qualifications Department of the NASDAQ advising it that, due to its inability to file a 10-Q on a timely basis, and because the company remains delinquent in filing its Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2012, the company is not in compliance with NASDAQ Listing Rules. The company has until May 20, 2013 to submit a plan explaining how it expects to regain compliance. Comment! [Tech]

Tuesday, April 30, 1:40 PM Maxwell (MXWL +4.4%) rallies after providing "unaudited financial highlights" for Q4 2012 and Q1 2013, as it continues to work on restating past results. The company's invoiced shipments for Q4 and Q1 respectively totaled $41.9M and $46.6M, above a revenue consensus of $39.2M and $38.3M, with ultracapacitor shipments totaling $26.1M and $33.1M. Maxwell's cash balance was $34.1M at the end of Q1, and its debt obligations $9.1M. Tuesday, April 23, 2:21 PM Maxwell (MXWL +6.9%) rallies strongly after announcing it's providing ultracapacitors for a braking energy recuperation system being installed on 27 light rail vehicles in the Portland, OR area. Though this particular deal isn't that huge, it could act as a proof-of-concept for future projects, particularly since the project is being funded by a DOT grant. And with Maxwell having closed yesterday near its 52-week low and 68% below its 52-week high thanks to investor angst over its accounting woes, a little good news can go a long way. Thursday, March 7, 6:18 PM Maxwell (MXWL) -12.2% AH on news it's restating 2011 and 2012 results due to errors in revenue recognition timing. Thanks to arrangements uncovered during an investigation, Maxwell "does not believe that a fixed or determinable sales price existed" for certain sales at the time of shipment, "nor was collection reasonably assured." The restatement will decrease Maxwell's 2011 revenue by $6.5M, and its revenue for the first 3 quarters of 2012 by $5.5M.
