Ship Finance Int'l: Steady Income in a Volatile Sector [view article]
I am hearing the registers ( notice I was plural) ring. I have NAT, until this mroning I played hard with FRO and will come back with a slight pull-back. If it drops one dollar I will pull the trigger again. I will also pounce on SFL possibly by week's end. There we will remain long. Though volatle as mentioned, very worthy dividends dancing on the backs of reduced share pricing. ReplyShip Finance Int'l: Steady Income in a Volatile Sector [view article]
Remember the higher yielding tanker companies like FRO, NAT and I believe TNK earn their rates on the spot market and the dividends fluctuate hugely. This last quarter ($2.75)was the highest dividend for FRO since they paid $3.10 in Q1, 2005. SFL is a more conservative play, having first call on much of FRO's revenues and a 20% profit share above a certain revenue level. if you can for the next few years FRO & SFL will treat you good. Replysion

Let's see, FRO has a lower P/E and more than double the dividend. SFL was spun off, why? FRO seems like a much better buy if you don't own either. What about TNK which yields over 12% ? ReplyShip Finance Int'l: Steady Income in a Volatile Sector [view article]
I like SFL. It pays a good dividend and appears to be a winner. I don't understand why the stock price does not always reflect the outlook for the company. ReplyShip Finance Int'l: Steady Income in a Volatile Sector [view article]
dont forget FRO itself.i have no agenda or connection just a happy stockholder.check out FRO. ReplyShip Finance Int'l: Steady Income in a Volatile Sector [view article]
Plus based in Bermuda hence no foreign withholding - a useful thing for non us holders. There is a bunch more shippers with similar profiles. Reply

i have no connection or agenda re the st. FRO & NAT are great stocks. no one has figured out a way to pave over the ocean. check out the yield & div. history. ReplyShipping is Shaping Up - Cramer's Lightning Round (5/27/08) [view article]
I read on the ldk yahoo blog and also by a friend who was watching the show that cramer said his first good thing about ldk. His comment was not bearish. and ldk will fly when they release news of their polysilicon plant. 46 is nothing. its worth as much as fslr!! ReplyGet on Board Nordic American - Cramer's Mad Money (5/19/08) [view article]
cos1000 is right - Cramer is an entertainer. You still have to do your own homework and be strong in your convictions. He told me to buy AMGN and UNH and CWTR after they had run up and I was too much of a newbie to know when to get out, and I got hurt. On the other hand, I bought RIG and NSC and OXY because of his positive take (got a double in RIG!).
I am wiser now. A company has to meet my definition of a solid performer. I only buy on pullbacks and take profits after runups. I still listen to JC for the entertainment, but I add a position he has recommended maybe only once a month. Reply

sweetness, you have valid points but they do not change what I said. Watch the stock, if it fails this year, talk to me then. ReplyShipping is Shaping Up - Cramer's Lightning Round (5/27/08) [view article]
He called CHK @ around 42-45 and it went to 60 in 6 weeks. His horizon seems to be 3-18 months for the most part so that needs be kept in mind. ReplyShipping is Shaping Up - Cramer's Lightning Round (5/27/08) [view article]

nyka.....wow this is and investment site, not grammar school or a spelling be, grow up alot, please.gebby...I bought ldk at $34.50, was sold out of it at $41, and am now kicking myself for what I thought was a good trade when I saw it go to $46. Cramer is only now talking about it. I like it as a "green" play but am a little concerned about its Cayman Island Incorporation, as a China based company. I'm sure my fear is based mainly in my ignorance of this company's real potential, and fear of all things China. I agree that fslr has been over hyped, but it is a US company, under more transparency with the SEC. In the current climate for all things "Green" , it may still play, you just have to watch your entry points and watch out for the price of oil. Reply
