Wednesday, June 19, 12:12 PM Noble Energy (NBL +1%) moves higher as a group of Israeli cabinet members, including the finance and energy ministers, approve the export of 40% of natural gas from the offshore Leviathan field; the decision needs full cabinet approval next week. Friday, June 14, 10:20 AM Noble Energy (NBL +0.2%) says its second Gunflint appraisal confirmed the resources of the Gulf of Mexico discovery but failed to find commercial hydrocarbons with its deeper target. Thursday, June 6, 12:33 PM Noble Energy (NBL -0.6%) is set to start drilling for natural gas at a closely-watched new appraisal well off Cyprus tomorrow. NBL, which reported a natural gas discovery of 5T-8T cubic feet southeast of the island in 2011, is conducting the appraisal to quantify and confirm the earlier find. Wednesday, June 5, 8:33 AM The U.S.-Israeli consortium developing Israel's Leviathan natural gas field reportedly estimates it will cost $4.5B to develop the offshore well, not including infrastructure for exports. Export options include building a liquefied natural gas terminal, a pipeline to a neighboring country, or bringing in a floating LNG vessel which alone could cost $3B-$4B to construct. Comment! Thursday, May 16, 12:48 PM Noble Energy (NBL) and Israeli partner Delek Drilling (DKDRF.OB) find "significant signs" of gas at an exploratory well at the Karish field off the coastal port of Haifa. An earlier geological report estimated the prospect could contain up to 2T cubic feet, smaller than the massive Tamar and Leviathan fields recently discovered in Israeli waters but still a commercial quantity.
