- Monday, August 30, 2010, 8:13 AM Google is said to be in negotiations with some of Hollywood's top studios to launch a global pay-per-view video service by the end of 2010 via YouTube. The move would put Google in greater competition with Apple (AAPL), Netflix (NFLX) and Hulu (GE, NWS, DIS) over the digital distribution of film and television content. Comment!
- Friday, August 27, 2010, 2:42 PM Paul Allen sues 11 companies for violating patents developed at his Silicon Valley lab: Apple (AAPL), Google (GOOG), Yahoo (YHOO), AOL, eBay (EBAY), Netflix (NFLX), Office Depot (ODP), OfficeMax (OMX), Staples (SPLS), Facebook and Google's YouTube subsidiary. Not named: Microsoft (MSFT), Amazon (AMZN). Comment!
- Tuesday, August 17, 2010, 4:23 PM Something that eventually could stop the Netflix (NFLX) stock juggernaut: HBO (TWX) won't play ball. Netflix has proven that there is a market for a deep catalog of older movies and TV programs, so much so that HBO intends to stick with its plan to make shows and movies available online through its planned HBO Go. Comment!
- Tuesday, August 10, 2010, 11:48 AM Netflix (NFLX +5.7%) broadens its streaming appeal through a deal with pay channel Epix to distribute films from Epix's owners: Paramount (VIA), Lions Gate (LGF) and MGM - another step in what almost looks like Netflix's transition into a premium TV channel. Comment!
- Friday, July 23, 2010, 1:37 PM Amazon.com (AMZN -3%) finally disappointed the market, showing the slim margin of error that richly valued issues have, Eddy Elfenbein writes. Even after a sell-off yesterday, Netflix's (NFLX +4.5%) trailing P/E is up over 37 (and rising). 3 Comments

- Monday, July 19, 2010, 8:23 AM Netflix (NFLX +0.9%) crosses the border, with plans to offer streaming movies and television in Canada starting this fall. Rival Redbox (CSTR) is working to keep pace, and may start streaming an expanded library via the internet rather than just offering movies in kiosks. 1 Comment
- Tuesday, June 22, 2010, 11:50 AM Sears (SHLD) plans to apply its sales muscle to a new video-download service, lining up against Apple (AAPL), Netflix (NFLX), Wal-Mart (WMT) and Best Buy (BBY), among others. By the holidays, Sears plans to sell TVs, PCs, disc players and phones with built-in technology from partner Sonic Solutions (SNIC). Comment!
- Friday, June 11, 2010, 1:11 PM Netflix (NFLX +1.5%) authorizes repurchasing up to $300M in shares, an addition to a plan announced in August 2009. 3 Comments
- Friday, May 14, 2010, 11:40 AM Sentiment turns on Netflix (NFLX -7%), as two more firms join UBS in downgrading the stock. UBS had lowered to Sell, saying the price reflected an acquisition that isn't imminent; Citigroup and Merriman have pulled their Buy ratings, as the price rose above most analysts' targets after a hot spring. Comment!
- Thursday, May 13, 2010, 5:15 PM Enough of the Netflix (NFLX +0.9%) takeover rumors, UBS says, dropping shares to Sell. "Though we fundamentally like the company and its hybrid DVD/streaming strategy, we believe the current valuation includes a premium for an acquisition that we do not believe will occur in the medium term." Comment!
- Monday, April 26, 2010, 12:14 PM In the wake of strong revenue growth announced last week, Netflix (NFLX) has cruised through the $100 mark today, +8.4% to $108 - and researchers like Moody's are starting to look for a backlash from increasingly dependent movie studios. Comment!
- Wednesday, April 21, 2010, 4:31 PM Netflix (NFLX): Q1 EPS of $0.59 beats by $0.05. Revenue of $493.7M (+25.3%) vs. $493.1M. Shares +0.7% AH (PR) Comment!

Use this upside movement to get out of NFLX while you can if you are still in it. Don't expect a full rebound. - View all 4 replies

Watch NFLX here in the $122 range. The 62% fibonacci support of today's up move is at $122.06. Has to hold $122 or will reverse by close. - View all 6 replies
