Monday, October 8, 2012, 10:47 AM Not surprisingly, optical component vendors JDS Uniphase (JDSU -4%), Finisar (FNSR -3.3%), and NeoPhotonics (NPTN -2.9%) are lower following Oclaro's (OCLR -7.6%) FQ1 warning. Fabrinet (FN -3.8%), which manufactures optical components for Oclaro and others, is also lower. During its earnings call, JDS noted demand for 40G/100G optical components is growing rapidly - a positive for Ciena (CIEN +2.8%) - and hinted it has signed a new development contract with Microsoft.
