- Wednesday, January 16, 3:41 PM ArcelorMittal (MT) and Nucor (NUE) reportedly each bid $1.5B in separate offers for ThyssenKrupp's (TYEKF.PK) steel operations in Alabama, while Siderúrgica Nacional submitted a $3.8B bid for the Alabama plant and a majority stake in a Brazilian facility. - Monday, December 31, 2012, 2:49 PM Steelmakers are among those profiting from the crashing natural gas prices triggered by the U.S. shale gas boom. By relying on gas instead of coal to purify the iron ore used to create steel, manufacturers are able to lower production costs for the first stage of steelmaking by about 20%. Energysystems: Overpriced, but best of breed, with a nice divi, along with it's mini-mill layout, and I like the onshore nat gas program. -
Energysystems: I agree, rich at these levels. Wouldn't touch it unless in the low/mid 30s.
