- Tuesday, May 7, 4:02 PM Endo Health (ENDP +0.8%) is set to finish in the green today, despite posting a mixed Q1. Net earnings swung to a profit amid fewer write-downs and other items, as well as a modest revenue increase on strong generic sales growth. Generic sales +23% at $178M, while branded-pharmaceutical sales declined 2% to $358M. Lidoderm sales dropped 11%, mostly owing to its supply agreement with Actavis (ACT). Sales of Opana ER slumped 31% as sales continue to lag following a disruption early last year resulting from the closing of a Novartis (NVS) plant. Comment! [Healthcare, Earnings]
- Wednesday, April 24, 5:37 AM Novartis AG (NVS): Q1 EPS of $1.32 beats by $0.04. Revenue of $14B (+2% Y/Y) misses by $0.02B. (PR) Comment! [Earnings, Breaking News, Healthcare]

Provides mid-term guidance for the first time, forecasting mid-single-digit percentage fall in core earnings this year; sales to be in line with 2012, excluding currency swings, although generic competition will eat into revenue by up to $3.5B. Sales growth to resume in 2014 and 2015. Comment! [Earnings, Healthcare]

New drugs helping to offset the patent cliff, and account for 29% of sales vs 25% a year ago. Consumer Health division sales -16% to $938M, due to manufacturing problems at Nebraska plant. Comment! [Earnings, Healthcare]

- Thursday, July 19, 2012, 8:37 AM More on Novartis (NVS +1.7%) Q2: net income flat at $2.7B, with revenues slipping partly because of patent expirations and the strength of the dollar. However, rising sales of new drugs, including Gilenya for multiple sclerosis and Afinitor for cancer, help offset the expirations. "Our pipeline is delivering," says CEO Joe Jimenez. Comment! Ocean Man: I bought some at 54.80 and sold at 57.40 pre-div, and I bought some at 55.80 which I sold today.
