this stock has dropped back every time recently that it has approached $15. Let's see what it can do this time. ReplyWall Street Breakfast: Must-Know News [view article]
"Losing would be a massive blow to MSFT's image,"Best outcome: Yahoo takeover fails; MSFT retains Monkey-boy as CEO, against all reason; Monkey-boy blows 40 B on AOL or some other weak property as an ego-massage; MSFT bones up on Chapter 11 laws. I can dream can't I? Reply

Pilot seniority issues always put airline mergers at risk. They're as big as any other single barrier. Union differences stopped United from taking over US Air back in the 80s. They're one reason so many airlines pursued code-sharing to avoid the issue. ReplyThe Long Case for Office Depot [view article]
Haha. As if your one store sample is statistically significant. And since when are any minimum wage employees NOT disgruntled? ReplyFoster

The Long Case for Office Depot [view article]
I went into Office Depot yesterday and I see no change. I see unhappy, disgruntled employees, an operational mess with the aisles obstructed by empty boxes, hand trucks, and a uncompetitive merchandise assortment that includes too many electronics.I forecast bankruptcy in 2009.
Enjoy.

Good point, and Wal-mart, well, it's like a cockroach in so many ways. I just can't shop there. I am hoping that consumers will notice that many Kohl's items sell for Wal-mart prices, and even Nordstrom has low prices on some things; for example, they have fine silk wedding gowns for around $200, the same price as those tacky polyester bridal barn types. If consumers are informed, these retailers can hold their own in a poorer America (should that come to pass). Replyy
Office Depot: Super Cheap or Mistake? [view article]
I'm glad you plan to ride this into the dirt. Historical financial statement analysis is meaningless. The stores face intense competition, are poorly run and have mostly young, low paid disgruntled employees.
Unhappy employees are almost always a sign that a company is headed into bankruptcy.
I predict bankruptcy in late 2009.
Enjoy!

the biggest home office equipment buyers are RE agents. due to low RE transactions recently, RE agents are feeling poor. a housing-led recession will make RE agents and companies whose primary customers are RE agents suffer. ReplyWill There Be Anywhere Left to Shop in 2010? [view article]
