    Technology is not exempt from the laws of economics. Something can be a very good idea, but if other people can copy the idea and offer a competing service, margins drop. SaaS is a good idea but there are no barriers to entry to offering competing products. I view very few things in technology as monopolies. Microsoft is a monopoly in my opinion (the competition for the o.s. (vista) and office is weak, and now they are extending their client advantage into the enterprise, (unix servers now have products with windows authentication)) and they have a p to e of 16, about the average for the s&p. crm can have competition and they have a p to e of 200 for projected 2008 earnings. if SaaS companies went down this year it just means that equity pricing for those companies got ahead of itself due to overzelous mutual fund managers and momo investors. imho Reply

    MARCH 13-NSTK:UPDATE: NO YEAR END EARNINGS REPORT, BUT IN THE MEAN TIME ONE GREAT ANNOUNCEMENT AFTER ANOTHER. JUST GREAT NEWS TO SOFTEN THE BLOW OF THE DELAYED EARNINGS REPORT. AND WITH ALL THIS GREAT NEWS IT WILL TAKE YEARS FOR THIS COMPANY TO RECOVER! YES, ONCE AGAIN 'HYPE' IS THERE LEADING DRUG!     How a company can integrate 4 acquisitions (Instadia, Hitbox who bought Visual Sciences earlier, Touch Clarity and Offermatica) from a technological point of view in so short notice? I am quite sceptical and would even be more if I would have used one of these technologies: what will happen to me now? Do I have to switch to another technology when I spent 2 years understanding another one? Changing the way of counting may blow-up all my statistical work! As a financial guy I understood these acquisitions but as a client I prefer to stick to a reliable and durable solution such as Webtrends or XiTi. Reply

    FEB.24,2008-NSTK-NASTE... PHARM-I FIND IT DIFFICULT TO BELIEVE
    THAT TO THE EXTENT OF PUMPING&TOUTING THIS STOCK HAS RECEIVED DURING THE LAST 12 MONTHS BY JIM CRAMER&RESEARCH FIRMS, THAT I A NOVICE SAW THROUGH ALL THE SMOKE AND RIGHTFULLY CALLED THE DEMISE OF THE STOCK PRICE TO THE CURRENT LEVELS OF $2 DOLLARS. AT HIS POINT I FIND IT DOUBLY STRANGE THAT NOT ONE RESEARCH FIRM TO DATE HAS ISSUED A "SELL", AS OF YET!
    THEY CAN ISSUE 'OUTPERFORM' RATINGS BUT NOT 'SELL' RATINGS.
    AND THEY HAVE NOT YET TO DATE, CHANGED THEIR 'TARGET PRICES'.
    WHERE IS THE LOGIC? WHERE IS THE PROTECTION AND HONEST ADVICE
    FOR THE INVESTORS? IF IT'S OBVIOUS TO ME THAT THE STOCK PRICE IS HEADING TO A $1.00 BID BY AUGUST 2008, WILL THEY CHANGE THEIR RECOMMENDATIONS ANY TIME SOON?
    THE CIRCLE OF LOYALTY AMONG THOSE COVERING THE STOCK OR OTHER STOCKS, PERMEATES SUSPICION OF REASONABLE CAUSE IN MY OPINION.

    FOLLOW UP FEB.14-5MONTHS AGO NSTK WAS $13.75 & CRAMER WAS BULLISH ON HIS SHOW ABOUT IT. I IMMEDIATELY POSTED LET'S SEE HOW BULLISH HE'LL BE COME MARCH 5 YEAR END EARNINGS REPORT.
    WELL STOCK CLOSED AT $2.34 YESTERDAY. AND NEW NEW LOWS ARE STILL BEING MADE. WITH 20 DAYS LEFT TO REPORT IT WILL CONTINUE TO GO DOWN. OF COURSE I DO NOT HAVE A T.V.     OMG, they've reinvented timesharing! SaaS -- ooo-ooo so new! Oooo so cool! lol, there was this thing called a "service bureau" back in the 60's and 70's. Yeah, the vendor had the software and you just sent 'em your data. Later there were these things called "terminals" where you could log in and enter your data to the vendor's system and get back reports online. Hmmm, them terminals were kinda like "thin clients", not much brains cause the processing was on the vendor system. Lol... the more things change the more they stay the same. Reply
