Oracle and BEA: Getting Uglier By The Minute [view article]
I believe an Oracle acquisition of BEA has made sense for quite some time. Oracle has the fastest-growing line of middleware products and has systematically strengthened them over the past few years through both internal innovation and acquisition of technology to broaden their capabilities. Competition from BEA has become much less threatening than it was 5 years ago. This acquisition appears to be more about increasing market share than it is about elimiinating competition (BEA has been doing a good job of eliminating itself without help from Oracle). Also, Oracle's concern about 'shifting value to BEA's management team' is right on target...they don't want this to be an opportunity for BEA executives to line their pockets at shareholder expense. ReplyOracle and BEA: Getting Uglier By The Minute [view article]
Amen, look at the Peoplesoft acquisition. Oracle wanted their cash and their maintenance stream. They wanted to get rid of a competitor in the application space. they've accomplished all three.but this is business, not about value to the customer.
The line in their letter 'shift value from BEA’s shareholders to the management team' that is ALL THIS IS EVER ABOUT, except now it is shift BEA's value to ORACLE's MANAGEMENT staff. Oh sure, oracle's stock will go up a little bit for big short term stockholders who will then sell. But it's really about their ultimate hurt, feeling 2nd fiddle to microsoft always. Reply

Oracle and BEA: Getting Uglier By The Minute [view article]
It may make sense for investors, but Oracle buy will definitely kill the innovation in BEA. Oracle has been struggling to get to the cutting edge and standard compliance for there middleware products, but have not been successful.Same will happen to the BEA products if they buy it. Over the period of years the products will be out of standard compliances and out of innovation.Broken Oracle support will further deteriorate it.Oracle intention is to kill the competition in the middleware market from BEA. If the customer who have invested in the BEA technology have to reamain happy stay in the leading edge using the BEA products in the long run BEA should remain as BEA...

Oracle Bids $17/Share for BEA Systems [view article]
try looking at oracle's purchases ..where they start the bid and where they end ... the answer my friend is blowing in the wind ... so use 17 as a base..and then use a simple risk reward.. ReplyOracle Bids $17/Share for BEA Systems [view article]
BEA is now saying that the offer from Oracle is too low. This seems a bit of stretch to me. I know BEA was undervalued, but not by this much. Could be the beginning of another bidding war. Well, if that does happen at least these backchannels for negotiations should remain open www.newsvisual.com/new... ReplyByron

Oracle Bids $17/Share for BEA Systems [view article]
Given the reported October 9 date on the Oracle letter to BEA management, I guess Larry couldn't even allow one day to go by with SAP surpassing Oracle in the middleware market (as Oracle defines middleware). SAP probably had a few short hours ahead of Oracle based on SAP's acquisition of Business Objects on October 8.I hadn't even backcast for this week's earlier news yet because it's never over 'til its over. But for BEA, I do think it's over. It was a good run, Alfred. Who would have thought there was so much value in some AT&T Tuxedo distributorships? Reply
Jim Cramer's Mad Money Lightning Round 10/2/07: Bucyrus Comes Back [view article]
10/08 Cramer is beginning to look real foolish pumping & touting nstk. Recently he said"I want you in nstk not isis. Since then Isis has made headline 3 times, including RNAI write up, Zack's recommendation as a buy by senior analysts, and today ahead of the bell article. However no news on nstk in the same time frame. I think Cramer is starting to look real foolish with all the Touts on nstk nationally! 10/04 WHY DOESN'T SEEKING ALPHA HAVE JIM CRAMER'S LIGHTNING ROUND FROM 9/26 WHEN HE STATED "DON'T BUY""I LIKE IT AT $12 DOLLARS"?
Between over hype and unpublished items, an investor is totally mislead to a degree. We need fair balance and that calls for someone like Michael Shulman from Biotech Blitz. Read his articles about RNAI. Reply
Jim Cramer's Mad Money Lightning Round 10/2/07: Bucyrus Comes Back [view article]
10/4 In all fairness lets reflect for a minute. From March 2007 until September 25 Cramer has touted NSTK 32 times already. On 9/26 the day after his buy recommendation video he stated on the lightning round Don't Buy wait until $12 dollars I like it at $12.
Now on 10/03 lightning round he wants you back in nstk because of RNAI and then he mentioned obesity & diabetes. Is it because the stock ran up yesterday and today at NSTK"s luncheon there is a guest speaker re:RNAI ? Well todays guest will speak about
"POTENTIAL APPLICATION OF RNAI" POTENTIAL IS POTENTIAL!
LASTLY IT IS EQUALIY POTENTIAL THAT COME MARCH 2008 WHEN THEIR YEAR END EARNINGS COMES OUT THAT NSTK WILL SET NEW LOWS! "TO MUCH HYPE AND IT IS UNWARRANTED". Reply

Consider Shorting Oracle Following Tibco's Guidance [view article]
Good logic but keep IBM in mind as well.Financial services made up 27.5% of IBM's revenue in CY 2006, a higher split than BEA, Oracle and TIBCO (according to the numbers above). Of course, that revenue includes more than just technology (as does BEA's, TIBCO's and especially Oracle's revenue). IBM's success outside the U.S. may protect it from the U.S. subprime thing but apparently TIBCO's international business did not protect it. Reply

Aug.15th (Jim Cramer)Nastech Pharmaceutical (NSTK): 'I took a lot of heat from the shorts, telling me that I was dead wrong... and they're wrong. NSTK is your speculative play. It has obesity. It has autism. It's got the special nasal way to get delivery for these things... It's got diabetes.'
jturano's reply......
It also has been so over hyped and manipulated that the stock is way back down from August 9th and as usual the shareholders are left in the dust! Some made quick profits, then shorted the stock and now there is weakness in volume and lost interest in the stock! My comments Aug.10th and Aug.11th have become reality! Reply
Jim Cramer's Mad Money Lightning Round Picks, 8/9/07 [view article]
August 11th Now that most of the investment web sites have a sell signalon NSTK, and a long time period of FDA hurdles to jump over,in the three areas of Obesity, Autism, And RNAI, maybe investors ought to read the set backs that the FDA has given to many Big Pharma companies and Biotech stocks after years of pending phase stages that have recently been reported on. Like WYETH, VPHM, and so on and so on these past 8 months!
This is far from being in the Bag! This isn't even worthy of a speculative buy anymore, it's down right Remote and misleading. Reply

August 10th, 2007Jim Cramer was right to purchase NSTK on March 16th and the other 18 times he mentioned the stock on the show since that time. Nstk should give you an award for giving life back to the long even if temporary. Except I disagree
with your statements re:Obesity, and Autism with Nastech's chances!
Your as good as your staff preps you and your friends back you on this stock.
In researching Obesity,Autism, and RNAI, I believe in my opinion, that you have over blown the perception of chances nstk will have with future success in these areas. The amount of hurdles Nstk has to jump over will be more than the years you and I have left in our lives combined! The current 100 drugs up for approvals and completed phases by other drug companies
in these three different area, will be announced within 12 months periodically. And Nastech is not on this FDA list!
So in my opinion Nstk recently has defied logic, statistics, earnings, and unwarranted movement upwards while the dow has gone done dramatically
for the first time in 4 years. nstk has defied every investment web sites and
their reports, or rankings to about nstk.
You have a great show but how you picked a turtle to win the race these past 5 months deserves loud applause and a reward by the CEO of Nastech! Reply
