Shares of OSI Systems (OSIS -18%) take a bit hit today after its FQ2 revenue fell short of analyst estimates. The company also cut guidance for FY13, now expecting revenues of $850M - $875M, below consensus estimates of $876.5M. Last week, the company said its Rapiscan unit would no longer provide software development for body-scanning machines used in U.S. airports, but would maintain its agreement to provide the U.S. Transportation Security Administration with imaging systems.

OSI Systems (OSIS +4.23%) moves up today after saying that its reached an agreement with the TSA regarding the Rapiscan Imaging Technology systems and Automated Target Recognition software, in response to a “show cause” letter it received from the agency in November. Under the terms of the agreement, Rapiscan unit will no longer provide software development for body-scanning machines used in U.S. airports but will continue to provide the imaging systems.

OSI Systems (OSIS) shares begin to recover from yesterday's 28% plunge following a report the maker of specialized electronics systems and components falsified information for its Rapiscan system. OSIS issued a denial, and Oppenheimer upgrades the stock and views the controversy as a "tempest in a teapot." OSIS +6.5% premarket.

OSI Systems' (OSIS -34.1%) Rapiscan security business is under scrutiny for possibly providing false privacy data on its full-body scanners to the TSA. "Rapiscan did not falsify test data," OSIS responds. "In fact, TSA testimony to Congress today confirms that this was at all times a government controlled test and that Rapiscan could not have manipulated any test data."
