Do you have a disclosure? Next resistance is at $82-83. I expect some serious churning between that and $76.20 200-day MA. Reply

Good stuff bro. I'm partial to this sector for covered calls and diagonals as well. The price on AIG gives the best bang for the buck IMO. Reply

AIG is now a wounded duck in the core life insurance business, where annuity and life insurance purchase decisions are heavily weighted on financial ratings. Pru, conversely, has the best VA on the strreet, with the best living benefits guaranteeing income for life. Hands down for PRU. AIG's big spin-off news on 09/25/08 make it an interesting speculation. Reply

When pension funds managed by Prudential had huge losses due to State Street Bond Fund mismanagement and losses, Prudential made good on the losses. That would indicate that Prudential has excellent liquidity as well as high ethical standards. Prudential handled the State Street Bond Fund losses correctly while State Street is making pensioners sue them. Reply

It's the media's job to scare the crap out of people. They have to sensationalize things or people will get bored & the ratings will drop. Reply

Just an FYI, hurricane intensity prediction is not very good in any of the models, especially anything longer than a couple of days. Track projection and other measures are a bit better, but again anything beyond a few days is unreliable.

Once the storm is a day or two from landfall, THEN you can begin to rely on forecasts a bit more.

Not playing the refiners? Huge pop with improving cracks spreads and low valuations. Long TSO, VLO, FTO stock and call spreads. Reply

This looks like a dartboard. Pick 3 sector ETFs, 3 little followed stocks
    and sleep better at night.

Any thoughts on the talks of a central clearing house for Credit Derivatives? CBE could be a huge beneficiary of this move, www.greenfaucet.com/th..., which will take place in the fall. Reply

user155010.. and other folks who think Jim Rodgers is great?
He has called for Frannie & Freddy to fail-uh should fail.., complaining that everyone has committed theft, fraud, etc. When ask by the interviewer if he was short these stocks he said of course. He stated yes he was making money being short but who cared if he was making money?? After all he said, "I have to pay taxes on it".. right!!
He spends his TV time bad mouthing the stocks so he can make his money short..a nice ethical guy.
    just my view..
